the more interesting discussion i've seen is not so much on whether its a slur, but whether using it in the way that you would use a slur against a human is unhealthy in the same way. i'm not really into ai but it definitely feels off to me that some people default to faux racism to deal with it...

I understood it as: they lower gc struct access to raw linear memory accesses, those lowered reads are subject to the same sandbox requirements as e.g. a manually written load/store instruction. but this is okay because they were already not doing individual bounds checks thanks to guard page use

no i understand that different orgs work on different things. more what it is to me is over the last five years github has directly addressed its uptime issues maybe twice(?) so the streams of other marketing stuff, even if its being produced by a different group of people, feel kind of tone-deaf.

the code changes within firefox are actually fairly minimal, the most annoying part was binding openscreen's quic stuff to neqo instead of quiche as they didn't properly abstract it.
