Slow, messy start. Newcastle didn’t play brilliantly — but they responded brilliantly. The fight and intensity is exactly what you want to see from a team trying to build momentum under a new manager. A flawed performance, but a strong result💪 #nufc

Regardless of what happens before the window closes NUFC is off to a perfect start, and you can feel the belief growing again. The football’s entertaining, the mentality’s strong, and the club looks aligned from pitch to stands. Long may it continue. 🖤🤍#nufc

Exactly! The rules get more and more absurd.

Make it make sense. Maguire handled it, shot it, it deflected… and somehow the Premier League still said “goal” because their handball rules are ridiculous🙄

Ultimately, this isn’t about one transfer. Take Isak last year. It’s about whether football governance is strong enough to stop clubs from outsourcing rule‑bending and then claiming innocence.

Newcastle called the methods “bizarre.” But what looks bizarre may actually be calculated. If objectives are achieved “by fair means or foul,” then the foul side isn’t a footnote — it’s the part that demands daylight.

What’s needed is stronger sanctions: points deductions, transfer bans, and real oversight of intermediaries. Mandatory disclosure of all contact would close the back‑door deals and restore transparency.

Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
The Premier League already bans tapping up under Rules T.5 & T.6. But enforcement has been weak. Fines don’t deter anyone — they just become the cost of doing business.
110
Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
If Arsenal really outsourced the “dirty work” to intermediaries, that’s not clever strategy — it’s exploiting a loophole. The club keeps its hands clean while agents push boundaries, leaving Newcastle sidelined and the player pressured.
110
Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
The question that really needs asking is how a club can approach or influence a player without the explicit consent of the club that holds his contract. If intermediaries are operating outside proper channels, that undermines both the integrity of negotiations and the authority of the owning club.

Loved BG, but forcing the move through media games Via agents, Fraudizio and Orny taints the legacy. Short careers don’t excuse stirring headlines to push an exit. Respect for what he’s done, but the way out leaves a sour taste. #NUFC”

Heartbroken. Eddie Howe wasn’t just our manager — he was the heartbeat of Newcastle. He gave us pride, belief, and nights we’ll never forget. The city will never feel the same without him. 💔🤍🖤 #NUFC #ThankYouEddie”

Bruno leaving is a kick in the …. Replacing Bruno G's stats 1:1 is impossible. I would go for Nmecha power & goals. Arthur Atta DM Add Steur and Manzambi the team could suddenly look quite good. It’s a dream and will most likely not happen but if they do it right it might be a good thing. #nufc

Yeah, football has had shady moments. But none of that changes the laws today. Law 12 is clear: a challenge that endangers an opponent is serious foul play, intent irrelevant. VAR didn’t “fix” anything — it just confirmed the red by the book. It was supposed to get better.

Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/07/2026
Balogun’s red card fits the letter of Law 12: a tackle that “endangers the safety of an opponent” is serious foul play, intent irrelevant. VAR stepping in doesn’t change the criteria — it only checks for clear error. By the law, it’s a red. Enough!! #worldcup

Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/07/2026
Balogun’s red card was correct under the Laws of the Game. Law 12 explicitly states that a player must be sent off if a tackle “uses excessive force and/or endangers the safety of an opponent” — and that judgment is based on the action itself, not the player’s intent. Whether he meant it or not.

Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/07/2026
FIFA using Article 27 — a rule only used a handful of times and almost never for World Cup red cards — basically sets a new precedent: just say you “didn’t mean it” and the suspension gets scrubbed. If this becomes the standard, what stops national leagues from doing the same?
010
Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 05/07/2026
FIFA suddenly using a barely‑ever‑used Article 27 to clear Balogun right before a knockout match looks shady. When a host nation’s star gets special treatment and politicians cheer it on, it doesn’t feel like fairness — it feels like influence. #worldcup

SCR won't work because it locks the inequality directly into the rulebook. By capping spending at 85% of total revenue, the system ensures that the richest clubs can legally outspend everyone else.It doesn't create fairness; it just a two-tier league where smaller clubs are banned from investing

Force elite clubs to use a fixed % of their massive commercial revenues to actively clear bank and transfer debts every single season. No more hiding behind TV money to sustain billion-pound liabilities while penalizing ambition. Level the actual playing field. Thanks for the memories 👋 #tonali

Meanwhile, smaller clubs face point deductions or are forced to sell stars just to compete. It is a rigged playing field. The Premier League needs to ditch these broken spending caps and introduce a mandatory Debt-to-Revenue Cleardown Rule.

Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 01/07/2026
Look at the "Big 6" safety nets. Man United sits on ~£1.3B in gross debt. Chelsea used billion-pound amortization and property loopholes. Spurs carry £851M in stadium debt. Because their global commercial engines easily absorb interest payments, they casually roll over massive leverage.

Mr G. @snefarug.bsky.social · 01/07/2026
Here we go again. The fact that Newcastle had to navigate tight PSR margins while Tottenham can comfortably commit £245M (£60M + £85M transfers alongside a £100M shows the system is broken. PSR doesn't protect football; it protects the status quo. 🧵#Tonali

Imagine a market where Tesco is legally allowed to spend billions on growth, but Boots and Greggs, are fined if their owners invest cash to open new shops. That is FFP. In the real corporate world, we would call it an illegal monopoly designed to protect the biggest giants from ever being challenged.

in leveraged buyout debt just because they generate enough TV money to absorb the interest payments. Level the actual financial playing field. ⚽📉 #PL #PSR

Force the "Big 6" to use a fixed percentage of their massive commercial revenues specifically to clear their bank and transfer debts every single season. If a smaller club faces administration for overspending to compete, the giants shouldn't be allowed to casually roll over hundreds of millions-

Football has become painfully dull. Teams keep the ball for 80% of the match and create nothing. It’s like watching a training drill instead of a sport.” “The game is losing its spark. Endless possession, no shots, no risk. 80% of the ball and somehow zero excitement.” #worldcup
