People complain about delays with many services nowadays but also don’t understand that so many people being cheaparse is what leads to this in the first place. Have to change the cheaparse Australian mentality.

I still think it is impressive that some people think masks act like a magical amulet that will protect you from disease transmission (spoiler: there are more illnesses out there than respiratory illnesses) but here we are.

Good morning all from Wangal Country. I am feeling significantly better than yesterday so hopefully this is only a brief passing illness. It’s a lovely morning outside and the sounds of the local birds, cat and dramatic sneezing neighbours can be heard. Happy Wrěspati to you all.

The Australian Greens leadership reminds me of the rotating monarchy of Malaysia.

I don’t think a main focus of the Greens should be to take votes from the ALP but constantly being stuck on 12% has clearly gone to some of their politicians’ heads.

I am in the office today because some members of my office are going to pub trivia again tonight. We are determined to sample the best (and worst) of the Sydney CBD in this department.

“Do you identify as a person from a non-English speaking background?” I answered ‘no’ as this is correct literally, though some people would look at me and think otherwise. These questions are not as straightforward as some would think.

Malaysia begins deportation of Rohingya refugees. It is interesting to note the numbers of refugees in Southeast Asian countries compared to Australia and how locals here unhinge over small amounts of migrants.

Brought it in today and colleagues are eating them! I am curious how many non-East and Southeast Asian heritage people eat and enjoy moon cakes. Definitely more people nowadays than when I was growing up.

Good morning all from Wangal Country. I haven’t heard the neighbour’s alarm for 4 days. Have they found a better way to wake up? Are they on holiday? Have they moved homes, chased away by an angry platypus. Who can say? Happy Martes to you all.
