Thrilled to congratulate @snaplabgroup.bsky.social undergraduate researcher Shaina Wasileski on her outstanding poster at the 2025 Midwest Auditory Research Conference at NEOMED. Her results illuminate physiological contributors to individual variations in outcomes in sensorineural hearing loss.

@samhauser.bsky.social's findings demonstrate that precision, individualized calibration approaches can mitigate the effects of standing waves, making DPOAEs viable in this crucial high-frequency region! (4/5)

The relationship between distortion product otoacoustic emissions and audiometric thresholds in the extended high-frequency range
Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) and behavioral audiometry are routinely used for hearing screening and assessment. These measures provide rela

I guess there's no better opportunity for a first Bluesky skeet (?) than to announce that I recently successfully defended my PhD thesis! Grateful for my incredible advisors (Michael Heinz and @haribharadwaj.bsky.social) and the fantastic labs and community that made this possible!

The results reveal that stronger TFS sensitivity is associated with greater resilience against the effects of reverberation and reduced listening effort for speech-in-noise under a range of conditions! Notably, these findings were replicated two more times.
