Poe was a tiny kitten (look at that face!) about to be euthanized because he had a broken leg and pelvis and no one wanted him. Although we don’t consider medical issues (that can heal) special needs, we just couldn’t let tiny Poe be euthanized. He deserved a wonderful life. So we pulled him at the last minute. Because kittens heal so quickly, Poe was running and jumping within a couple weeks of arriving here. And he hasn’t stopped! Poe loves to run, climb and play with his kitty friends Zoe and Pumpkin. Poe also loves people and will make a great addition to any family, especially one with other cats about his age.

She was taken to a local rescue called PawLove.org, where Kimberly treated Violet for mange, got her spayed and up to date on vaccines, and that’s when they learned Violet is FIV+. Kimberly’s organization doesn’t normally adopt out cats (they help where we can with the homeless animal population and those that need them), so she reached out to us.

We think Violet will thrive in a quieter environment with fewer kitties. Right now she’s a bit skittish, but once she gets to knows you she loves pets and attention. So we’d like to find a new home for Violet ASAP.

Stormy and Thunder have made themselves right at home! Both kittens are extremely playful; very loving; and everything you’d want in a pair of bonded kittens. Both have moderate-to-severe cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) but continue to get stronger and more steady every day. Stormy & Thunder use the litterbox like champs, and get along great with other cats.

This little gem is Celeste. She’s 8 weeks-old and will need both eyes enucleated. Celeste was found meowing on a doorstep in Orange County. She was brought to the local shelter on July 21, and given 24 hours for rescue. The shelter also stated that Celeste could also be euthanized should her health decline.

We received an email of Celeste’s situation from K K (honestly, this person never signs her name) shortly after the shelter posted her. We reached out to some of our rescue partners in Orange County stating we’d rescue Celeste should no other rescue step up and take her.

No one did.

So on July 22, we started the process of getting Celeste out of the shelter. With the incredible help of Kathy, Janet, Maral, Caroljean and Merrill, we/they found Noel, who pulled Celeste out of the shelter… ½ hour before it closed! Noel is now fostering Celeste until we can get her up here.

Yeah, it takes a village.

We’re currently working with Michelle (Pilots N Paws) and Ken (Flyingtails.org) on getting Celeste up here. And stay tuned, because it’ll be documented on Ken’s Flyingtails show on PBS!

Thank you, everyone, for saving Celeste’s life. We can’t wait to get her up here, take care of her eyes, then start looking for that special forever home for her!
