Disguising electronics as food might be my greatest victory so far. The can speaker amongst the cans is a close second, but that wasn't entirely intentional.

So, I have some peculiar sensibilities about organization insofar as everything has to be where it's most useful but it's not allowed to look or feel out of place. I've been struggling to figure out what to do with the random shit I need in the kitchen that doesn't have a place. I give you this...

Moose (a.k.a., Jerkimedes) the black cat in a surgery recovery cone slung over my shoulder like a rag doll. This is the easiest way to make him feel comfortable when he's anxious or in pain, so I carry him around the house while I try to get daily chores accomplished. He's so big now, I'm always surprised when I pick him up.

We appreciate your well wishes. He already bought himself a post-op complication because he's fucking bonkers (nothing life-threatening). Recovery is gonna be tough. The current obstacle is how to drink water with the cone on... without dumping the whole dish on the floor. It's complicated.

A stainless steel water dish wrapped and surrounded in towels because someone dumped three full bowls of water on the floor in the space of 5 minutes. We're working on drinking without dunking the whole post-op cone and both front feet.

Someone came home without his balls this afternoon. It's been a rough day.

Moose (a.k.a., Jerkimedes) finally passed out in his fleece bed on the bottom shelf of the plant stand after going completely bonkers for seven hours after coming home from his neuter surgery. He hates the cone so much that he opened up the surgical site in his paroxysms. It's not life threatening, but it was... Not Great™️.

Mmmm... Fancy cat drinking fountain. Pretty satisfied with my DIY skills on this one.

Lucy and I had to spend the night at my folks' place so my mom could look after her while I was in faculty meetings all day. It was the first time Jerkimedes was on his own overnight and he handled it like a professional. Now he's busy making everything right again.

She's been having trouble getting comfortable lately and it took me two days to realize that the change in the weather was to blame. A heating pad fixed that right up. She was out like a light in 30 seconds.
