Oh hey. PC-98 on mister based on z486 core. Neat. This Night Slave game is really awesome, just have to figure out how to stream it.

Today I learned that CJ Elephant Fugitive for the Sega Game Gear has a 2p link race mode where it even keeps track of the other player via a floating arrow. Crazy

Found these cute pairs of beige Altec Lansing speakers at the goodwill. Will bring together the old computer corner perfectly once I set that up

So right now for archives, I use an outdated version of bandizip that I've had to block the phone home connections in order to use. I'd like to replace it with something free/open source like PeaZip or NanaZip but the feature I use bandizip the most for is to unzip in different country encodings

I remember my first tv that had RCA jacks, it was such a treat not having to use RF modulators or hooking up the ps1/n64 which didn't come with RF to the vcr. Sometimes though, you had to screw in one of these bad boys just to feel alive

When I talk about having to stack systems & vcr on top of the tv & then try routing the cables so they weren't sitting in front of the screen, sometimes I get questions like "get a bigger tv stand?" & then I remember a lot my audience probably didn't grow up with hand me down units like this guy

I'd like to give this a shot this month. I'm bad at social media though so forgive me if I mess up or miss a day.

Since I've got the pentium 4 machine hooked up to the capture, here is its sblive's midi with soundfont support. First playback is with the 8mb one that comes with SBlive, the 2nd playback is with GeneralUserGS

Ok here is undying on the 1.4ghz pentium 4 with geforce 4. It is better but I take it this game must of been a pain in the ass to run back in the day

020 2

Snakeman 🐍Low Poly Vtuber🐍 @snakemanvt.northsky.social · 01/10/2026

ok bsky. What kind of machine should I use to tackle Clive Barker Undying. The screenshots below are on the 650mhz pentium 3 dell with voodoo 3 which handles Unreal 1 ok, but clive barker dips into the 20s outdoors. I can try a 1.5ghz P4 with Geforce 2 or 4. Or my overkill XP machines. Thoughts?

Snakeman 🐍Low Poly Vtuber🐍 @snakemanvt.northsky.social · 01/10/2026

hmm, maybe the 650mhz pentium 3 with voodoo 3 combo is reaching its limits here? I have a pentium 4 system that I could combine with a geforce 2 or 4, or I have a dual core athlon xp with a nvidia 8800 for overkill purposes

So I knew Britney's Dance Beat on PS2 was from the Bust-A-Groove/Move people, but watching radon play the gba port got me to learn there is a bespoke PC version from developers "Hyperspace Cowgirls"

This thing scares me. What do you mean 100,000 games? Even if they inflate # like eGames that is still a crazy number. Also why does the 3rd CD say 50,000? What do you mean this came out in 2008? Imagine a video series trying to cover every game in here... I'm not strong enough

I went and grabbed an aliexpress compact flash card for a couple bucks and cloned my windows 98 set up. On the left is the Transcend 4gb card via CF to ide, on the right is the same set up but with some random aliexpress 8gb card. The difference is probably minimal for a windows 98 pc

Hi, I birthday'd and beat "Gimmick", then I beat "Gimmick: Yumetaro's Odyssey', "Mr. Gimmick 2" and "Dark Gimmick" which was kind of kaizo gimmick. Some call me the world's greatest Gimmick player... (I didn't get true end in Dark or Mr. Gimmick 2, maybe next time)

question: if I was to model a little low poly gamepad for me to hold, what system controller do you think it should be? What system do you think of when you think Snakeman stream? I have this hastily crafted generic but I think I'd like to replicate something

I don't know what I want to do for birthday week streaming but here are some ideas so far

Birthday Week Shenanigans?

- Gimmick Romhacks, Fangames, & Sequels?
- Castle Shikigami 2 & 3 (STGs in general?)
- Densha De Go with Handcam & actual learning attempt

In case you wanted to hear the OPL3 chip on the board, here it is in Tyrian 2000, with me changing it to the midi wavetable midway through for comparison. Probably not the best track for the wavetable but you decide. Also the tyrian jukebox really inflates recording size
