Dragon Age: Inquisition XII - HANGED MAN Surrender. Sacrifice. Suspension. [ #art #oc #dragonage #dai #tarot #majorarcana #blood ]

Dragon Age Inquisition fanart. Major Arcana tarot card.
XII - Hanged Man
The text, border, and Inquisition Symbol are in gold.
My Inquisitor, Jordan, marching through the mountains in a blizzard after the fall of Haven. He's a tall athletic man with a mustache, and a large cut over his right eye. The right half of his face is saturated red. The other side of his face is clear, but a tear falls down his cheek likely to freeze in the storm.
His mage armor blows in the gale, and his left arm is bare as the anchor sends pulses of green energy up to his shoulder. He grips that arm tightly with his other hand.
As he stands in the storm fighting the fear from Haven's destruction, he moves forward to rejoin the Inquisition. The symbol of the Inquisition hangs around his throat like a collar.

Dragon Age Inquisition fanart. Major Arcana tarot card. The same as the previous image.
XII - Hanged Man
The text, border, and Inquisition symbol are in the same green as the anchor.

you'd best run, boy. (dnd tragedy comic. it's okay he resurrected his bf a year later (then he died again)) #dnd #dndart #unchartedlands (alt text for a little more context)

Dark-toned grayscale comic with pops of color in bright blue and red. Panel 1: Reed (cleric) seeing his bf Hover floating above and getting hit with a Disintegration Ray. Panel 2: Closeup of Hover's hand with the arm disintegrating, Reed helpless in distance. Panel 3: Reed's shocked face. Panel 4: Reed turning towards the culprit in grim determination.

Page 2, Panel 1: A Death Tyrant (undead beholder skull) floats ominously, big red eye with slitted starlike pupil staring intently at viewer, floating red eyes doing the same. Two figures of the party also helplessly engaged with the Death Tyrant. Panel 2: Closeup of Reed's crying panicked eyes, iris's shaking. Pupils inversed from the Death Tyrant's; black eyes with starlike bright red pupils. He's been targeted by a Fear Ray. Last Panel is simple text: (WISDOM SAVE: FAILURE)

He's always been good at running.

if you’re an artist who ever thought “what’s the point? The world is Hell and I should do something that matters instead” even in an ICE detention center people will treat art as sacred, seek it out, and find joy and comfort in it. You aren’t making art, you’re making hope.

On her first day in the facility, Becky asked for a scrap of paper and a pen, and began to draw the inmates on the table next to her. She was immediately inundated with portrait requests. A Mexican woman called Lopez, who had a photo of her children stored on one of the iPads, told Becky she would buy her some paper and colouring pencils from the commissary if Becky drew her kids. She soon became the dorm’s unofficial artist-in-residence, with women huddling around the dirty mirrors to make themselves look presentable before they sat for her. They would decorate their cells with Becky’s drawings, or send them to their families. Lopez declared herself Becky’s manager. “She kept saying, ‘Becky, you need to ask for stuff in exchange. Ask for popcorn.’ And I’d be like, ‘Lopez, I don’t need anything.’ I thought, I’m here briefly, you’re stuck here a long time. I’m not going to take your food away from you.”

A three by three grid illustrating in blue pen cartoon portraits of women in an ICE detention center. “Mrs Kailey,” Bana, Lewelyn, Ikram, Asil, ‘Auntie,’ ‘F.Z,’ Kseniia, and “P.A.” Two have light hair, three have glasses, one wears a hijab, one poses, and one holds a drink.

FFXV Somnus and Ardyn with wings. Somnus is driving a sword through kneeling Ardyn's shoulder and tearing off one of his wings

FFXV winged Aera and Lunafreya, both holding on to a trident. Luna is kneeling and only bloody bones remain of her wings

FFXV winged Noctis and Ardyn, fighting in mid-air

This is a really good way of looking at art -- "The conversational partner changed" is SUCH a good way of phrasing how I personally see art/writing/music/etc. Original post: www.tumblr.com/shinesurge/7...

A Tumblr post from user shinesurge with the text:

Honestly I can tell you finding out art was made by AI really does immediately, legitimately sour it for me, like people will trot this out as a Gotcha for anti-AI people but it's just making it clear they don't consider art to be the conversation that it is lol. It's similar to the way Harry Potter immediately soured for me because engaging with it while knowing the kind of heart Rowling is writing from changes the way the work feels; there isn't any moralizing or whatever that I have to do, it's easy to drop it because it's rotted in my hands.

"Oh but you LIKED this song before, nothing changed!" The conversational partner did. A very large portion of what is interesting to me about art is thinking of why the creator chose that instrumentation, or what made them want to make the thing in the first place. Finding out I've been talking to a wall completely removes an entire third of the force that art is to me, and I can't argue that anything about art or its consumption is Objectively Correct but I can argue it's fucking boring lmao
