I’m pretty sure that’s just a trade association (aka lobbying group).

Are you referring to me? I’m just trying to understand why the observer guy is the new enemy and what really happened here.

Mike Nowak @snackdog.bsky.social · 23/08/2026
I was mostly reacting to people claiming the Observer e newsletter guy was a hack and a fraud and a conspiracy theorist when he simply referenced the Laidlaw Substack. Then I got drawn into the argument. I just want to know what’s happening since there is a big empty lot in my neighborhood.

I’m not sure how that is relevant. I think the clear facts are that Heidi Poscher did serve time for fraud and she received preferential treatment from council and staff (getting exclusive negotiations instead of going thru an RFP). I think this warrants more scrutiny.

I’m just repeating what I read or heard. I really wish some investigative journalists would look into this.

I think it’s because he finally got the records.

Especially if the supposed suicide note suggests that the multiple life insurance policies would cover the cost of the bankrupt development.

Normally a suicide of the spouse of a prominent developer wound be news.

I guess you must be pretty invested in this project despite the developers record.

From his resume he seems like an accomplished journalist. It does make you wonder why the felonies of the Southtown developer are not more widely reported.

Awesome! Still waiting for safe crosswalks on my part of Packard too. The crosswalk at Rosewood where the kids run across Packard to get to Pattengill school seems dangerous.

Taylor called Rabhi and people at the watch party witnessed it and reported it. Rabhi is doing a speech now on instagram.

No we are in opposition to a council and mayor who are all about group think and not listening to the people who live in Ann Arbor now. You have a fantasy that we are all republicans and nothing could be further from the truth.

I was told verbally by Dr. Stults and by Shoshanna by email that some kind of energy credits are the plan to get to A2Zero.
010
Mike Nowak @snackdog.bsky.social · 24/07/2026
The “billion dollars” seems pretty unlikely — we need a phase 2 study to know for sure, and not use a DTE talking point.
100
Mike Nowak @snackdog.bsky.social · 24/07/2026
Despite your disgust for this journalist (she is not my favorite either), it should not be surprising. Both the director of the SEU and Dr. Stults told me that carbon offsets or renewable energy credits are their plan to get to A2Zero. Is that a good use of money? Or should we buy renewable energy?
210
Mike Nowak @snackdog.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
But is this the plan? Do you think the quotes by Dr, Stults are made up?
200
Mike Nowak @snackdog.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
I agree that the A2 Independent is not the best source but there are several quotes from Dr. Stults and if they are not made up, then buying carbon offsets seems like the plan.

Mike Nowak @snackdog.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
Looks like the city will need to use taxpayer dollars to buy carbon offsets to reach A2Zero. A public utility could buy actual renewable energy using rate payer funds. #A2Council @a2publicpower.bsky.social @publicgrids.org

We are trying to get enough signatures to get on the ballot to create a public utility board. Our council funded a phase 1 study but not a detailed phase 2 study.

“As mayor, he will fight to lower costs in Ann Arbor by building truly affordable housing, protecting public services and holding corporations accountable.”

“From taking on (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to leading the fight for single-payer health care in Michigan, Yousef Rabhi has had the courage to stand up for working people and challenge powerful interests,” Sanders said.
