Also, I don't think it's his fault in that situation in the beginning at all. Being panic frozen is a valid excuse, mate. You shouldn't feel that bad, and you're friend was a huge dick about it. Being brave is cool in the movies but putting yourself in imminent danger is stupid. Be responsible, yo.

I liked it just fine but the ending took a bit of a detour into a different kind of movie. Action thriller. Which the battle is cool and all, I just didn't as much care for the actual ritual itself very much. Deer King Kong ass moment. Atmosphere was undeniable, music on point. I just wanted more.

They could have had more meaningful conversations even though they did a fine job when they all started to get distinct roles in the group. Distress will bring the real you out. There's also a lot to say about which order they got taken in. Different parts of the ego, of the self. Reflective!

It really did look great and the first half was seriously spooky. The suspense was high and the mystery and how quickly everything devolved was neat. The cast interacted very nicely and it felt like an actual group of friends even though I would have liked to learn more about each one. Just a lil.

I certainly liked the parts about the guilt and trama but I feel like the message got a bit muddled with the crazy reality of the final act. It's an interpretation thing. The rest of the crew definitely didn't deserve the role they had to pay in the main guys redemption arc. Unless it was a dream.

It's seriously some dangerous ass shit to be hiking when something happens. Obviously they have a lot more to worry about but you could just do a horror movie about just the natural dangers out there if you're unprepared. Coupled with my anime about girls climbing mountains, I'm getting both sides.

Just watched The Ritual (2017) 📽 Somehow I've only ever seen the ending to this and not the full movie. Which is a shame because the first half is when it's at its peak. Super cool monster design aside. There's a real horror about getting lost in the woods. 7/10 #filmsky #horror #hiking #worship

I liked it more than I disliked some of the ways it tackled it's themes. It looked great and was paced at a satisfactory speed. The dual stories colliding and even tying into the past was done well. I'm excited to see the next one for sure. Hopefully they do some flashbacks to wrap it back around.

I give it so many extra points for music, especially the Iron Maiden scene. Glorious. The demon stuff is really cool visually, even if it was just a taste. Not much comedy. At least not for me. Maybe the tinky winky dance landed for other audiences. Samson's signature head pull is dope asf.

I also really wonder how winter is. Wouldn't it be advantageous to hunt the zombies in the cold, white wasteland where not only are they slower but also you can see them better? Maybe that'll be a later movie, but the weather was shockingly good throughout this film despite being where it is.

Like the psychology of the rage zombies, the idea of a cult, what it means to risk braving the monsters alone instead of compliance with the real monsters. I would have loved to explore these really powerful and intriguing themes in greater depth but it somehow played it safe. Could have explored it

I tried not to get bogged down in the minutia this time. They did a good job addressing a lot of it. I wasn't sure why Spike was hanging around them for so long without escaping or why there wasn't dissent but they eventually got there, in a slightly flimsy way. There were a few things like that.

I loved Samson. His story line and presence were awesome, big peener notwithstanding. It's funny that they stumbled into a cure with a morphine cocktail after 28 years of no research, presumably. Had me thinking about how they largely abandoned the world. They could be dropping guns every week.

The story continues right where the last one left off which is kewl. I can't say I was dying to know the story of the tracksuit psychos but it got right to it off rip. It did do a good job giving the relevant characters more personality. Even if it's not people I liked. For the most part... kinda.

Just watched 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2025) 📽 Probably my favorite in the series but not without flaws. It touches on a lot of really cool themes but not quite to the depth I was looking for. Much more gore and even a musical number! Badass film 7/10 #filmsky #horror #satanism #mementomori

Give me a break. I'm immediately disconnected from these posh stories where everyone is drowning in privilege where one of the biggest moments of drama was one of the girls getting sick from yelling outside in the rain. She might not make it! She has cold dress disease! I felt nothing but boredom.

The biggest thing I hated was just the level of drama within all the affluence. They have this giant mansion and woe is me they have to live in a smaller country house with only a few servants. Omg she hurt her ankle running on the beach. The fancy parties have other women who are so mean to them.

There were some attempts to create beautiful creative shots but the scenery was so drab and colorless. It's where it would have taken place but it's not visually that interesting. The sets and clothes were cool. Especially London. The music was pretty nice. I just felt like I was being held prisoner

Which was also incredibly weak. There were some deeper conversations but they also didn't even feel like fleshed out characters. What the hell were their goals and ambitions? To dance and play piano in a nice house? To appreciate nature? Do they have hobbies? They showed the mom digging a ditch tho.

itCHAboii ДあN @smustache.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Maybe this is what people really care about and love from these stories but they didn't show them spending time in a house they supposedly love and falling for men they find passionless and without ambition. Which they never resolved. Who cares about the men though right? It's about the women bond.

I'm not a curmudgeon I swear, I like a nice romance. This just felt so dry and forced that I wanted to put my head through a castle wall. Why can't we have any chemistry on screen? Can we not show a little agency in their own lives outside finding a man to save them from their sad farm life.

Just watched Sense and Sensibility (2026) 📽 Look, I know I'm not the target audience at all but cmon they could have done more the bring this adaptation to a wider audience. I haven't read the novel so I'm just talking about the movie on its own merits. Bland! 2/10 #filmsky #drama #romance #yeolde

But yeah, actual movie opinion is it's sooo slow. They all are. The scenes go on way too long, the BreenScreen looks out of place, the sound and editing are incredibly off beat. I marginally knew what was going on but my attention would drift in and out between "action" scenes. Good and bad equally.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun! It's so funny to see the levels at which his creative mind operates. He can't be in on it. I refuse to believe it isn't genuine. I pray he nor anyone else taints this goofiness by exploiting the joke. Like the way Disaster Artist portrayed Tommy. It's a strange world.

Haters aren't going to watch these movies even if there is a massive improvement. With a full budget and production and perhaps a team of editors it's not like they would be won over for the story. Or the music or acting or any individual element. It all works together because it doesn't. Truly.

What's rather unfortunate about these productions is that by this point it's become a sort of trap for fans. People who love his work aren't going to want him to change, to rapidly improve his work. They love the outsider director approach, much like The Shags were popular. But imagine 7 more albums

I absolutley prefer the real world locations and props so this departure and experimentation is hilarious and a welcome change. It doesn't scream that there was more effort or vision going on but it's delightfully inept. The way it runs away from convention needs to be studied. It's impressive.

Just watched Cade the tortured crossing (2023) 📽 Please no one ever teach Mr Breen how to use AI. This is probably one of the most entertaining of his movies but honestly when the novelty wears out, you're still such with the same issues as the rest. 5/10 #filmsky #NeilBreen #corruption #action

I had a really great time with this one. I thought it was fascinating in it's delivery and had amazing spooky scenes. It looked great and never lost my attention. It's over the top and full of surprises, I just thought it was two different movies in a trench coat at times. Absolutely worth a watch.

The end is kinda sweet with its optimism. I think the takeaway is that the space orcs are due to advanced evolution entirely but I am skeptical that the planet would be completely safe but maybe they address that in the sequel lol. I thought it was going to be more of "all in le head" but it's fine.

I liked where it went with playing god, memory loss and how that can warp your motivations. It did get a bit muddled toward the end with high concept fuckery that was maybe a bit too ambitious. Like, with the merging of Payton. That could have been laid out more in depth with less rushing.

itCHAboii ДあN @smustache.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
The space orcs are far less compelling than the fear and isolation being far from anything you recognize and having to rely on people, even when they are past any reasonable threshold of morality. What time will do to corrupt our sanity. But sure have some crazy fights too. Why not? It's fun I guess

And there's nothing wrong with that at all. It pulled it off well, I'm just saying I think this movie was at its strongest as a psychological thriller. The reveal after reveal, tackling mental distress, trauma and hopelessness as well as duty and responsibility. That's where the story shines.

I liked the actors and the characters for the most part. The fighter who didn't speak English was my favorite. The woman baddy was great for sure but it reminded me of most of the 2000s women led action movies of the era and that gave me vibes of a different sort of movie. Felt like an action flick.

Once again a space horror movie absolutley NAILS the set design. The ship and all it's parts felt really maze- like and large. The details in all the rooms was great as were almost all the effects used throughout. Costumes and props were all very authentic. This seems like it had quite a budget.

Just watched Pandorum (2009) 📽 What a cool movie, man! I loved so many things about it but that opening scene is the perfect isolation horror moment. It's confusing, tense, and drip feeds the story at the perfect pace. Everything is going to be a spoiler 8/10 #filmsky #horror #spacetravel #mystery

I loved it. I think it's something everybody should see even if you're not into fighting movies, like I am. It's just a cool, thoughtful and well polished film with so much going right for it, that you walk away feeling satisfied and excited. It's hard to believe this kinda stuff happened fo real.

It's also incredibly important to talk about and portray the horrors that occurred at that time because of the brutal invasion. Western media doesn't show this side as much a nazi Germany but it was just as tyrannical and oppressive. They illustrated it well here. Although as a total caricature.

I did think it as funny in the beginning how his wife treated his marital arts as if it was his weekend bowling hobby. She changed her tune later but it was just funny to think about it in that way. She came around to being a wonderful character worthy of that respect he gave her. Great line there.

But outside of very limited flaws this was just such a cool story to tell. Ip Man is literally such a role model for positive masculinity. He's just the biggest badass known to mankind. His philosophy and unshakable principals are so motivational. Now that's a real hero, through and through.

The dubbing was kinda strange but the dialogue was on point and characters did their roles perfectly. Music, pacing, there's just not that much to criticize. I guess some of the action scenes did come off as a bit silly with the gore and the classic "large group attacks one by one at the same time."

To start, it looks so great. The style and setting are so lived in and fleshed out. The camera is doing amazing work right here. The fighting and choreography are top notch with minimal but not non-existent editing cuts. It flowed impeccably is what I'm saying! Talent ask around. Script included!

Just watched Ip Man (2008) 📽 Who are we kidding, this is clearly a genre defining classic. I don't know how or where the rest of these movies go but on its own, this is the complete package. Incredibly proficient and interesting. Bravo, so so good. 9/10 #filmsky #martialarts #chinese #historical

Usually I can look past all these flaws but they really started stacking towards the end. The village was great, why is he off on his own now with seemingly unlimited arrows. Does he make them? Are there enough apples? Wouldn't the watch tower seen him walking up that last time? Infuriating as hell.

The bone temple looked cool and the way it was filmed was rad but the skull cleaning was bullshit. The newborn thing was bullshit. There's no way you would help that zombie give birth what are we doing. Also the baby is like several months old in the next shot. Erics phone died showing a photo.

There weren't any particularly interesting or sympathetic characters other than maybe the doctor but he kept that one giant zombie alive for no stated reason. Thankfully they gave the giant one a giant weiner. We would have really missed out on that shmeat. The Eric guy sucked. The mom sucked.

The entire island was abandoned and I guess the world goes on despite the ending of the last one. The kid taking his mom and going is the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. The dad's cheating did not warrant this kind of reaction. The kids wasn't brave, he was stupid and reckless. Lived tho?

For starters, the way that society regressed after all this time is interesting but they put no effort into explaining why suddenly the rage virus works completely differently than last time. Why do they not die off like before? They can eat other meat and food, sure but at a sustainable level?
