oh my god. idk if it's AI generated or what but their new mascot thingie is terrifying.
Extremely uncanny valley image of a skinny brown skinned woman with short curly hair, wearing a bright yellow suit, staring straight through your soul with wide open eyes, her mouth in a tight and strained looking smile showing off a row of perfectly straight teeth. Not sure whether her face is showing murderous intent or screaming "put me out of my misery".

i was like – is it botões or borbotões? why do i think it’s borbotões? is that even a word, what does it mean? i’ve finally identified the source of my confusion. the first time i ever heard this expression was in the children’s musical Os Saltimbancos, which takes poetic license to say “borbotões”
Track “O Jumento” from album “Os Saltimbancos”. Lyrics:

“E chorar, e chorar aos soluços
E pensava com meus borbotões”

sometimes, it's the little things that bring you joy
Ghostty terminal app dynamic icon on the dock, set to the "blueprint" variety (cute ghost shaped icon with a "> –" winky face over a blueprint style background)

question about html headings and best practices / accessibility if i have <header> <main> then <footer> in my page, and the one <h1> element describing the page is inside <main> using a <h2> inside <header> to label the <nav>, doesn’t it break the principle of not using the headings out of order?
Avoid using multiple <h1> elements on one page:

While using multiple <h1> elements on one page is allowed by the HTML standard (as long as they are not nested), this is not considered a best practice. A page should generally have a single <h1> element that describes the content of the page (similar to the document's ‹title> element).Don't do this:

<h1>Heading level 1</h1>
<h3>Heading level 3</h3>
<h4>Heading level 4</h4>

Prefer this:

<h1>Heading level 1</h1>
<h2>Heading level 2</h2>
<h3>Heading level 3</h3>Sectioning content examples:

<header>
<nav aria-labelledby="primary-navigation">
<h2 id="primary-navigation">
Primary navigation
</h2>
<!- navigation items ->
</nav>
</header>

<!-- page content ->

<footer>
<nav aria-labelledby="footer-navigation">
<h2 id="footer-navigation">
Footer navigation
</h2>
<!-- navigation items ->
</ nav>
</footer>

about 1,5 year ago i left a comment on a video about scrupulosity OCD trying to describe what feels to me like a compulsion to apologize. after that i got 2 separate replies on that comment from ppl saying they felt the same and found my comment helpful. and those replies made me so happy, somehow
A psychiatrist has told me I might have OCD. I'm not sure it's the case because I'm having a hard time identifying intrusive thoughts of the "if i don't do blank then blank bad thing will happen" sort. I might just
be really anxious with some obsessive traits? But I can definitely tell I have a compulsion to apologize. Over multiple interactions with people, every little one adds a little tick to the count of things i've done or said wrong and things that are wrong about me as a person. I feel like, I'm not sure whether l'm a bad person or not, but this is making me so uncomfortable, I should apologize just in case, I should try to atone just in case, so I can stop thinking about it. But at that point i'm not thinking about any specific trigger, so i have nothing specific to apologize about to any one person. So my compulsion is just to go on social media like twitter and openly tweet something "I'm sorry for being annoying", "I'm sorry for being me", or if I'm really going through it it can just be "i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry" repeatedly. I never want to apologize directly to another person when i know i'm doing it compulsively, because i know i'm putting the onus on them to reassure me and that just makes me feel worse, that I am inconveniencing someone to have them make me feel better. So apologizing into the void seems preferable. It honestly still does not offer much relief. (maybe if i were religious i would try to apologize in prayer, but i'm not.)Reply #1: Man I could've been you writing this. Thank you for putting it into words. I'm not diagnosed at all nor do I know what I'm going to do but thank you

Reply #2: Hi, I know I'm a year late, but thank you so much for taking the time to write this down! This helped me even more than the video ❤️❤️❤️

recently started reading the aubrey-maturin series, and i’m currently at the part of post captain where maturin is trying to raise free roaming bees in a ship i can’t stop laughing at the ridiculous man and the sitcom tone of it all dhdhdjfj
'But how in God's name do you expect to keep bees in a man-of-war?' cried Jack.
'Where in God's name do you expect them to find flowers, at sea? How will they eat?'

'You can see their every motion,' said Stephen, close against the glass, entranced.
'Oh, as for their feeding, never fret your anxious mind; they will feed with us upon a saucer of sugar, at stated intervals. If the ingenious Monsieur Huber can keep bees, and he blind, the poor man, surely we can manage in a great spacious xebec?'

'This is a frigate.''Close the door,' cried Stephen, swarming past him and clapping it to.

'What's amiss?' asked Jack, whose mind had moved so deep into naval life that he had forgotten the bees, as he might have forgotten even a vivid nightmare.

'They are remarkably adaptable - perhaps the most adaptable of all social insects,' said Stephen, from another part of the cabin. 'We find them from Norway to the burning wastes of the Sahara; but they have not grown quite used to their surroundings yet.’

'Oh God’, said Jack, scrabbling for the handle. 'Are they all out?'

"With only a month left until the current union contract expires at Vox Media, the Company yesterday announced it sold Polygon and laid off the bargaining unit at the site.

"Polygon has long been a must-read destination for gaming and geek culture news, and its talented, award-winning journalists were an essential part of what has made Vox Media a profitable and top-tier online media company. It is hard to fathom management's commitment to its workers and its readers when this marks the fifth round of layoffs in just the last six months.

"Vox Media Union members with the Writers Guild of America East have been in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement since February and management has thus far rejected our economic proposals, refused to offer meaningful counter proposals and, frankly, shown a lack of interest in reaching anything close to an acceptable deal.

"The Vox Media Union is ready and willing to fight to get a contract with reasonable economic gains, critical Al protections, much-needed layoff protections and increases in severance, protections from rising healthcare costs, a single bargaining unit that includes The Dodo, strong successorship language and additional common-

One of them is stepping out with a bright orange ball in its mouth A fluffy, happy loving couple of ducks napping next to each other right by the water, faces snuggled under their wings.Entrance to a stone tunnel with vegetation hanging overhead, bright sunlight from the end of the tunnel contrasting with the shade
