Never again will we allow parents to go unheard and unseen. It's common sense to ask for safe storage and limitations on high capacity weapons to keep them from landing in the hands of the wrong people. #standwithsmith #pinks #mnleg

Thought we didn’t have money in the USA for healthcare. Yet the Defense Department’s latest estimate puts the cost of the war with Iran at $37.5 billion. Funny how we’re always told we can’t afford to invest in people’s health, but somehow tens of billions of dollars for war can be found.

At the start of the day, we had a HUGE fundraising goal. At this moment, we are only $83 from that goal and I cannot say that we came so close and missed it! Can you donate $25 to support this movement to put more working folks in charge? #pinks #mnleg #voteblue secure.actblue.com/donate/smith...

Today’s a HUGE deadline for me and I’m behind. I don’t know people with “money,” and I’m not taking huge PAC $. This disadvantages me against my “silver spoon” opponent. But if we can show we have numbers, we WILL win. If you can give $10, it can be the difference. #pinks #mnleg Smithformnhouse.com

And maybe I will have played a part in that. Even if he doesn’t realize it. I believe we can warm peoples’ hearts if we listen, come from curiousity, and work hard even for the people that are hurt and hateful. Is this something you can support?

But ultimately, moments like this give me strength. Strength to want to keep going, despite his anger. Because I want to make HIS life better, too. I have a vision, that one day… he will be sitting at home thinking “man, life is good.” And he wont have a reason to hate anyone anymore.

When I kindly said “ALL of them? Even ME?” He looked me dead in the eye and replied, “Yes.” No other words. Just chilling hate. It made me bristle with fear, sadness, frustration, shock, and even pity for whatever has happened to him.

While I was knocking yesterday, I had someone say we need to “kick ALL democrats out of MN.” This man was a millionaire, likely wants for nothing, but full of hate. THIS is what we are up against. People that have climbed the mountain and found themselves way up there, alone and angry. #pinks #mnleg

My partner came with three kiddos with special needs. I didn’t run from the challenge, I faced it head on. Being a bonus mom to these kiddos speaks directly to my ability to advocate and face challenges. As I’m not required to be here and be part of this family but choose to be despite the hardship.

It’s a long game, but I intend to fight to save our country and it begins right here in Maple Grove MN. The other side has been playing the long game for decades, investing in local elections that can have huge effects over time. It’s time for us to play the same game but play it better. LFG 💙

When redistricting comes around, it will impact the entire country as a blue majority in legislature means we can draw fair voting districts and potentially gain seats in U.S. Congress.

I’ve raised my hand to run for MN House of Representatives in West Hennepin. When I win, this will affect the entire state of MN by flipping a red seat to blue and taking a majority in our state house.

So I decided to do something about it. I’m no politician, but I couldn’t stand by and watch while a Republican man ran unopposed for a seat that is in a legislative district that was split by 121 votes in the last presidential election.

I see what’s happening to our rights as women and Americans, with the Dobbs decision, Medicaid rollbacks, and Operation Metro Surge. Right here in MN we have leadership that doesn’t believe in climate control, wouldn’t support ratification of the ERA, and would have religion rule public schools.

Let me introduce myself: I’m a bonus mama to special needs kiddos, a passionate developer of people, a realtor that specializes in helping low resource families attain homeownership, and I live in MN. I’m running for State House in MN.
