Screenshot of a Live Science article with the headline "Why do kangaroos have 3 vaginas?" and the subhead "Female kangaroos have one tail, two feet and three vaginas when they're giving birth." There's a photo of a female kangaroo with a joey in her pouch.

I just learned that the reason we use black and white soccer balls is because of a gimmick created by Adidas in honor of the Telstar Satellite, a satellite launched in the 1960s that was shaped like a ball and dotted with little solar panels....like a soccer ball. Soccer balls used to be BROWN

HELP I'M SORRY WHAT
Google AI overview saying:
Yes, female kangaroos have three vaginas; the outer two are used for receiving sperm, while the middle one is used for birthing, allowing them to potentially be perpetually pregnant due to their two uteruses.

Key points about kangaroo reproduction:

Multiple vaginas:

Female kangaroos have three separate vaginal canals.

Two uteruses:

This allows them to be pregnant with multiple joeys at different stages of development.

Small joeys:

Because of the urinary tract running through the middle vagina, kangaroos give birth to very small joeys.

Something fun I just learned: The screenwriter for Miss Congeniality didn't like the original music they had for the pageant anthem, so he asked his 5 year old son to write a new one. The producers unknowingly chose it for the film. You can hear it in this clip: youtu.be/Kf0tmg27pWA?...
Wikipedia screenshot with this text:
When Marc Lawrence was working on the 2000 film Miss Congeniality and was not pleased with his options for the Miss United States pageant theme song, he turned to Clyde. At only age five, Clyde wrote his own version, and the film's other producers chose to add it to the film without knowing its writer. The Miss United States pageant anthem which Clyde composed is prominently featured in the film, and his composition led him to become the youngest member of the Songwriters Guild of America.

Question for the hivemind: If I want warm water to come out of a tap like this, will it warm up faster if I turn it all the way to hot, or will it take the same amount of time if I turn it to the medium temperature I'm looking for? Husband thinks it's the first one, but I'm questioning

Asheville is so proud of the Biltmore that there are at least three neighborhoods named after it -- Biltmore Park, Biltmore Village, Biltmore Forest -- all of which are far enough away from each other that any confusion will cost you 20-30 minutes in drive time

honestly "your body, my choice" is such sophomoric little boy behavior, the thing boys say because they want to see what will happen if they do. it's the kind of thing a boy says before his mom grabs him by the ear and takes him outside for a stern talking to, after which he never does it again.

Older ladies: what is the correct response when someone says "You don't look [your age]" ? It doesn't feel great to say thank you because there's nothing wrong with being my age. Younger people: This is a super awkward thing to tell people, maybe reevaluate your perception of what "old" is
