Cool, it's a combination of art deco and steampunk style, mostly a fast scrolling platformer, with side scrolling shoot-em-up sections. All set underwater (Bioshock demake basically). The platform has weird colour resolution compared to pixel resolution so scrolling sections 1-bit, static colour.

I think karma is coming for companies doing this. AI companies are bleeding cash at an incredible rate - their subscription fees can't possibly ever sustain their businesses. The will need to jack their prices up massively, and these companies who have fired all their staff will be forced to pay.

Finished another game for the original Arduino Uno 8bit. Only needs a couple of resistors for video, and some buttons to play. I was sure I could cram it into the 32KB of flash on the Uno, and it fits! Using an amber CRT here for that lovely phosphor glow #retrogaming #arduino youtu.be/Ta_QJ2_47uc

Decided to finish Bioshock Burial at Sea Episode 2 finally. Maybe the most depressing ending to a game I've ever experienced. I must admit I really didn't enjoy this as much as the main games, or even Episode 1. The whole thing was depressing, honestly. #bioshock #gaming

I did all the achievements in the first two games, and loved the story. Infinite, did almost everything, Burial at Sea 1 was ok, but I tapped out 5 mins into BAS pt2. The stealth mechanic just didn't work for Bioshock, for me anyway. Just watched a YouTube cutscene compilation instead.

Particles have basic physics, so can bounce and slide on the tilemap. All collisions are pixel-based. #gamedev

I didn't defend it - I'm not a fan of MS at all. I'm saying that technically what he said was correct - IF <- notice the "IF" there? IF id was losing money, then that would likely be the reason MS cut staff. They're notorious for doing exactly that. This is just a factual statement.

Carmack is undoubtably one of the best game devs of all time - genuinely industry changing work in the early years of id, and I'd like to say "hi" to him. Would I want to be around him socially? Probably not. I've read his biography, and the history of id, and he's almost certainly on the spectrum.

I really haven’t noticed more potholes on curves - would be interested to see if it’s true. In the UK I believe a lot of the potholes are caused by our weather - lots of rain, freezing and the odd hot spell. Combined with poor maintenance - I see a LOT in my city where trucks have no access.

I should add that when trucks were lighter they would be running on four axles between tractor unit and trailer. They now run on six axles to allow 44 tonnes gross. So a 50% increase in axles for around 50% increase in gross weight. Trucks generally also run on air suspension now so kinder to road.

No normal lorry in the UK can carry 39 tonnes. The maximum weight of the truck, trailer, and load is 44 tonnes. So they generally carry around 25-30 tonnes of goods depending on the configuration. Above that and you need special purpose heavy haulage permits. I used to work in transport logistics.
