Good thread. It's just a shitty situation. All you can do is hope people make the right choice, as painful as it might be. But I also understand the perspective of HP fans - that series was important and comforting to them, and being told to put it away is a huge ask. I'd have trouble letting go too

I think a big problem is that many people who are very online don't have a strong sense of self. So they must defend what and who they identify with, because if those things are bad, they think it means they are also bad.

I always hated when I got freebie plastic Halloween shit. Spider rings, "decorative" mini posters or "collectable" cards. Hate it even more when my kid gets it as a candy-alternative. "For parents who don't allow sugar, here's some trash instead!" And now people buy all that for their house?

Wtf that's real? When people say things like "I can picture it now" I assumed it wasn't literal. I have vivid dreams sometimes where it is like seeing a movie but I can't do that while I'm awake. I'm good at remembering the appearance of things but I can't fully see them when I close my eyes. Wtf

The writing in FEFW already seems leagues better than in FE3H. I'm only a couple hours into Cai's route. Even though Cai is Mr. Shonen McProtag (endearing), his dialogue is more like a real human than most FE3H characters. His relationship with his dad feels real and nuanced. #fireemblem

Yeah for sure. But Zelda has historically made lots of intentionally weird/goofy design choices over the years, and I think it's in line with that. To me, it's kinda charming, but it's definitely not a universally appealing kinda thing.
