I used to run a doggie daycare out of my home, in addition to having dogs of my own. I had two other cats at the time they mostly steered clear of my client dogs. Not Stevie. She'd square up and stare them down. She was the smallest cat, never weighed more than 6lbs, but she acted like a lioness.

Today I learned that bipolar eyes are a thing. Totally thought this was just my mood flavoring perception but no... Things are *actually brighter* when manic. Neat. Brains are weird. Link for those interested: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

Perception is commonly enhanced during manic/hypomania phases. In one paper some patients with a bipolar disorder observed that their vision sharpened during manic/hypomania states, with objects often becoming more vivid or brighter (causing some patients to wear sunglasses) or observed greater clarity.
