Don’t think I’ve heard anyone really mention this new Myka 9 x Blu album yet but it is GREAT. One of the best surprises of the year imo. open.spotify.com/album/2LtAFM...

For those who partake, this is comfortably the worst FIFA game they’ve ever made btw. The worst ever meta, the most frustrating piece of shit I’ve ever experienced. Doesn’t just need a patch it needs burning at a demonic ceremonial gravesite.

MJ Why You Wanna Trip On Me is so mad because it’s SO vibey that he’ll be singing about poverty and I’m there making screw faces like I’m hearing the best Conway The Machine verse ever.

Currently got a sore throat and I’ve got one of those situations where like the where my throat and roof of my mouth are itchy, so I’m walking round the house making my noises like a vomiting cat to try and get rid of it

Thou - Tyrant (2007) Their debut. I bought a slew of their albums in one swoop and listened to them for weeks on end, not dipped in for years but they’re still great. One of the rare sort of doom-sludge metal bands I’ve found consistently engaging. thou.bandcamp.com/album/tyrant

Timecop1983 - Childhood Memories (2014) Not listened to this for a decade, it’s vibey as fuck and about as good as these synthwave 80s pastiches could ever get. Huge fan. It’s made me want to listen to everything he’s done since that I missed. playmaker.bandcamp.com/album/childh...

Gost - The Night Stalker EP (2013) More of the same re the other one from him, this one is definitely horror influenced and does its job nicely as a modern synthwave reimagining of 80s horror OSTs. gost1980s.bandcamp.com/album/the-ni...

AG Da Coroner - Crushed Grapes (2013) An obscenely New York album. Was from 2013 but it does feel late 90s in the delivery of the emcee and the beats. Enjoyed listening to it for first time probably in a decade. Silly cover. manbitesdogrecs.bandcamp.com/album/crushe...

Gost - Skull (2013) Daft Punk for aggressive goth metalheads who think they’re somehow above Daft Punk. They’re not. Daft Punk are great. Gost is good too. Dark synth wave shit. gost1980s.bandcamp.com/album/skull

Hayze - The Smoking Section (2013) No prizes for what the subject matter is from that emcee name and album combination but it’s good! (Most weed rap is good tbf, incredibly high hit rate) Apathy features. A couple really nice songs on here. manbitesdogrecs.bandcamp.com/album/hayze-...

Eddie B - Horsepower (2013) Eddie B sounding lovely over La musica de Harry Fraud. The beats almost by design take front & centre here but they’re well used, and there’s some nice features from Action Bronson, Apathy, Meyhem Lauren, Shabaam Sahdeeq etc. manbitesdogrecs.bandcamp.com/album/eddie-...

Julia Donaldson is a pussy for not completing the Gruffalo trilogy. She had two classics back to back w Gruffalo and Gruffalo’s Child and like Dre w Detox just felt too scared to drop another in the set.

PackFM - Featured Material Vol. 4 (2012) To this day apparently the last project he released? PackFM was a great battle rapper and an emcee linked w Tonedeff & QN5 and this is a mish-mash of his work (features, songs etc) around the early 2010s. packfm.bandcamp.com/album/featur...

Co$$ (n/k/a Cashus King) - Greyer Skies (2013) Flabbergasted that this guy wasn’t big. This mixtape is so polished, well produced & so accomplished w the rhymes. It feels like a really good major label backed lyrical rap album, deserved so many plaudits. cashusking.bandcamp.com/album/grayer...

Perturbator - Dangerous Days (2014) More synths. A policeman with a metallic cock and balls driving around a dangerous city at night playing this as chases dafties. The vocal tracks on this are superb and stand out. perturbator.bandcamp.com/album/danger...

DJ Harrison - 4.Dollah.Feel.Good (2014) A relatively early release from a musician who makes beats with the same organic authenticity & soul of a Karriem Riggins. Think this came out just before Stashboxxx made him more of a household name. Great vibes. djharrison.bandcamp.com/album/4-doll...

Little Simz - E.D.G.E. (2014) Not to be that annoying music guy but I was on the Little Simz wave even years before this one, and this one was years before she really broke out too. This is a mad early example of why she was always going to make it big. littlesimz.bandcamp.com/album/e-d-g-e

Savon - Always & Forever (2014) A great early album from another producer who has gone on to be bigger since with his work alongside Waldo but this album from a decade ago furrows that same ‘Soulection’ adjacent sound as Sango did. Strong re-spin value. agomusic.bandcamp.com/album/always...

THOU - Heathen (2013) Back on my Bandcamp BS. Thou are obviously far bigger now but when this first dropped it felt huge imo. This was the album I discovered them on, great doom metal, lyrically far more impressive than most in the genre. Big dog chugs. thou.bandcamp.com/album/heathen

Really enjoying the new Tyler album in the sense of the vibe but like every single thing he’s ever done since like the debut mixtape there’s something about it that never clicks for me fully. Think I’m just slightly too old for his music or something lol I don’t know

010

Adam @smalltings.bsky.social · 07/08/2025

Really happy they exist and load em all up imo but these Mass Appeal legends albums haven’t fully connected yet. Both the Slick Rick and Raekwon ones are decent but I struggled to find much that could hang with any of their previous works in there at all. Might need more spins

I enjoy that Hideo Kojima’s timeline is like, him doing absolutely mundane shit like a selfie at the cinema, or a cup of coffee, then the next pic is him with a robot that looks like it may be sentient and it might signal the end of the earth or something. Real variety and value as a celeb follow.

Best team won. France should be embarrassed they played not just 90 mins but 100+ w an extra player and didn’t even look the better team on the night. Think if we played France again in final we’d have won but that wouldn’t happen anyway as they’re out, and Spain are 10x better than everyone.

I get why he didn’t, he had PSG in for him and why wouldn’t you make that move as a Frenchman. But it’s still quite funny that we were in for Ekitike when he was a bairn at Reims and here we are like 3 years later. Both player and club have improved exponentially since then! #NUFC

This works if stages 2-5 are: 2) getting a better manager 3-5) getting a much better squad in almost every position

Watched Parthenope and honestly no-one makes things look more beautiful on screen than Paolo Sorrentino. The woman in it feels like the most attractive woman on earth, and she certainly is in the movie, but my criticism is that the film’s entire purpose seems to just be that.

Trying to convince my wife that Mel B and Mel C from Spice Girls weren’t called B & C because it was the start of their surnames but that they were the second and third Mels of the group and there was a Mel A who got kicked out before their first song for bad behaviour.

Been listening to a lot of latter days NIN since the gig and honestly I skipped the 2010s NIN stuff mostly but it’s actually really solid? When you think NIN you think generally Pretty Hate Machine & Downward Spiral but the 2000s albums are great and the 2010 stuff still holds

The staging at Nine Inch Nails gig tonight looked absolutely unreal. Saw them like 2 years ago at Manchester Apollo and they just played like a standard guitar band w a couple lights but tonight they had all manner of shit popping off, sensational gig.

People are kicking off about the Slick Rick landlord bar but the real bar from the last week’s releases that really bothered me was Kamaiyah saying she ‘doesn’t eat McDonalds’ on her new album. Now that’s something I really cannot relate to. I know loads of landlords.
