Woman calls her partner cute, they kind of laugh the compliment off, so she starts kissing/massaging/shrinking them until they admit that they're cute and say it like they mean it

drove me up the wall that they continued doing this shit in the movies/revival seasons it was shitty and old hat in the early 2000s and it did not get *fresher* 10+ years later

Well now I'm curious if you've seen Marzipan Classic as a giant

000

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

So at the beginning each section is roughly equal in length, and by the end, the shrunken one gets to hold the POV for like, one sentence, before you swap back to a long, long section from the giant's perspective

110

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

A formal trick i always wanted to try but am too lazy to follow through on is to have story focused on a couple divided into short-ish sections. Each section alternates the POV between the two of them, and the length of each section is proportional to their sizes

awawa #sizesky

sequential drawing of a large hand and brin (@bathynalia), who is the size of a digit. brin holds on with an "awawa—" as the finge raises her up, and then goes "BWAH" when the finger squishes her down. brin kisses the huge finger—perhaps she's even shrunk a little further in her excitement.

19th century French writer Tiny Guy de Maupassant famously hated boobs and yet had lunch inside a woman's cleavage every day, because it was the only place where he wouldn't have to look at them

Little relaxation sketch comm for tips-on-toes on ToyHouse! #sfwgt #giant/tiny

Sketch of two size difference OCs, Gabriel (big) and Eon (little). Gabriel is a young man with short messy hair, wearing a hoodie and star-patterned leggings. He has headphones on his head. Eon is a small bipedal creature with a cup-like head with a candle wick flame, dressed in an oversized hoodie.

Gabriel rests in an arm chair, his knees drawn up toward his chest, while he listens to music that comes through on his headphones. He gazes down at Eon fondly, who seems happy to be held in Gabriel's hand, slightly leaning back. They are both very comfy, winding down for the day.

Comic speedrun any% You ever have one of those days? #SizeSky #sfwGT #shrinking

4 Panel doodle comic featuring my OC Juliette.
First panel has Julie entering her house looking exhausted, hat in hand.
Second panel sees her going up the stairs and eating a piece of her trademark Shrinkolate. Also there's a framed picture of a snail on the wall.
Third panel is her belly flopping onto bed as she rapidly shrinks midair, shoes flying off her feet. She ends up even smaller than her teddybear.
Finally, in the fourth panel, she sleeps peacefully curled up.

If Time Burton could direct this movie from his ed wood era maybe we'd have something Hell I'd settle for his big fish era

010

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

There are ways to thread this needle. Ways that growing big could be in part about her seizing control of her own sexuality, and you can go lots of different ways with that. It's not an unsolvable problem but it is a tricky one

100

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

The protagonist grows too big and powerful to be controlled and objectified by the men in her life... but not too big to be controlled and objectified by the men making and watching the movie

100

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

But so, you have a story that wants to be kind of thematically feminist on one hand and wants to shamelessly ogle a woman on the other.

100

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

Like I'm not even saying that as a horny size brained idiot, both films are very clearly dripping with the idea that there's something kinky about a woman growing huge, though it's obviously a lot more subtextual in the original (less subtextual in the poster though! See previous point!)

100

Smaller Luke Theory @smallerluketheory.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

But at the same time, both movies are very much about "look at this sexy giant lady stomping around in a shredded dress." Or at least the promise of it; there's a reason the most iconic image from the original is the poster and not any shots from the movie, cuz the movie barely has any of that
