Coming at you in Sonic Heroes, it's Team Blaze! Blaze the Cat guards the mysterious Sol Emeralds. She's so upstanding, many people are confused why she keeps shady mercenaries Surge the Tenrec and Kit the Fennec around, especially Surge and Kit themselves. Is there something to them only Blaze sees?

Surge time! So far, this one seems to be coming along more quickly than the other two. The power of being a character I very much enjoy drawing, maybe. Though maybe I shouldn't say that before both hands are finished, hands always find a way to give me trouble.

More of this particular project. I think I'm satisfied with the lineart for Kit now, and honestly he's a character I've never liked much so I kind of just want to be done with him anyway.

Back at it with Team Blaze again. This time it's the Flying-type member. I think? I never played Sonic Heroes, but I'm sure Blaze is Power and Surge is Speed, so... Out of character, the lineart for Kit isn't close to finished yet, but I had to stop for the day before I hurt myself, so here's a WIP

Today I wanted to try something new for the process of adding in base colors. I don't get Krita's "colorize mask" feature, but making a copy of the lineart to use for flood fills seems to work. I'll probably do lineart and base colors for all three members of Team Blaze before the lighting/shading.

Continuing on from the last drawing I showed, now it's time to polish the initial sketches of Team Blaze into proper lineart. First up, the leader of the bunch, you know her well. I spent pretty much the whole day just on Blaze because I got perfectionist over pretty much everything. RIP my hand.

My friend @tatamize-jun.bsky.social is working on alternate history timeline, and part of it is a version of Sonic Heroes that debuts Blaze, Surge, and Kit as their own team of three. I wanted to think up what they might look like in this world and got these designs. I might polish these up later.

Actually drawing a character now. Some parts haven't been too difficult, at least in terms of understanding how to make it look the way I want (the execution, well...), which I'm guessing is due to the fact I deliberately chose fairly straightforward poses so I could focus on stuff like proportions.

More work on this picture. I decided to change the closet into a darkroom and change what's on the wall scroll to what the Internet assures me is an actual Japanese proverb that means something like "Don't believe everything you're told." Next time I'll probably start work on the for-real lineart.

Also, I decided to start playing ranked in Street Fighter 6 today. This is where I'm at after placement matches and one extra game to finish a set. Master rank is a long way off, but I think now I've got it in me to stick it out. I (think I) want to play with people at my level more than feed my ego

I don't like to go too long without picking up my pen, even if it's just doing simple practice like this. I've heard that there's a specific way you should hold a pen while drawing, so I wanted to get a feel for it. So far it mostly just feels strange.

Continuinh to work on this drawing. Well, the preliminary part, at least. Aya's hair continued to give me a lot of trouble, so that and the article on Sanae is all I got done this time. And I'm still not quite happy with the hair, but I don't want to get stuck on it forever.

It's funny I've seen two super grimy fighting games with a big aerial component and a female reporter character. And since Rival Schools is stuck in No Games Jail, why wouldn't its characters end up in Gensokyo, the land of forgotten things? Hopefully Ran's job interview goes well.

Sonic is 35 today. The joke is cliche, but I haven't seen anyone else making it today, so I had to fill the void myself. Not my best work, certainly, but it took me less time than I used to need for something at this level of quality, so hopefully that means I'm making progress.

I was playing a lot of Street Fighter 6 the other day, and my wrists really didn't like that, so I had to give myself a break from anything that involved using my hands a lot, including drawing. So today I just wanted to keep myself from getting too rusty with a pen.

I doubt anyone familiar with Touhou and the sort of thing I like to draw is very surprised to see the 9-ball show up. I probably should have worked more on the overall pose before spending so much time on the head, but at least they're on separate layers, which should make fixing things simpler.

New drawing time, and this one's gonna involve drawing someone human-shaped. I don't think Touhou characters count as human, but they do look human. I don't particularly like or dislike that series, so hopefully I'll be more willing to practice drawing people when it's characters I'm not attached to

But I also need to work more on drawing people, which is hard for me as it is. I don't need to make it harder. *shrug*

For the last several weeks, I've been working on a project to build a music player based around the sound chips from a Sega Genesis, and today I finally got it to work. It's way too noisy for my liking, but it does work. That's a victory in my book.

In case anyone was wondering how getting parts out of that Sega Genesis went, the answer is "not well." I ended up having to source the parts I wanted from a random internet person. I'm pretty sure I got legit stuff, but there's been too much waiting for deliveries with this project for my liking.
