Hurrah! I took part in the trial for an mRNA-based flu vaccine and the US FDA has approved it!

Dear All,
On August 5, 2026, Moderna announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the investigational study product mRNA-1010 as mFLUSIVA®, a new vaccine against seasonal influenza for use in all adults 50 years of age and older.
This milestone marks Moderna's fourth FDA-approved product in the United States and the first mRNA-based flu vaccine.
Results from the mRNA-1010-P304 (Fluent) Trial supported the approval of mFLUSIVA, providing an important new option for older adults in the United States. mRNA-1010 has been accepted for regulatory review in the European Union, Taiwan, Canada, and Australia. Additional country submissions are planned in 2026 and
2027. mRNA-1010/mFLUSIVA is not currently approved in the United Kingdom.
On behalf of all of Moderna, we would like to thank you and your teams for your tremendous dedication and hard work throughout the Fluent Trial. Without you and the 40,805 adults who volunteered to participate, this important achievement would not have been possible.
