Our final major output of the Slow Memory COST Action is the forthcoming edited volume, "Slowing Down Memory Studies: Theory and Practice of Remembering for Transformative Change", edited by Joanna Wawrzyniak and Jenny Wüstenberg and appearing in Open Access with Bloomsbury in early 2026.

Mixed emotions as I travel home from Ghent after our very final @slowmemo.bsky.social retreat. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished, excited to see how we collaborate next, a bit tired - but most of all so thankful that I got to work with this absolute dream team for 4 years. Miss you already!!

We took part in a special issue of the Slovenský národopis/Slovak Ethnology journal on 'slow memory' (check out @slowmemo.bsky.social). Memory studies tends to focus on how specific events/characters resonate now, while slow memory looks at past events that occurred gradually, over a long time.
