My mom cared deeply about the families and children she worked with, regularly navigating difficult situations of abuse and neglect. I wrote this out of love for her accomplishments, letting her know she wasn't at fault and her life's work wasn't in vain.

Slow Mass @slowmassmusic.com · 05/06/2025

Even after going through that, she quickly bounced back to work for a non-profit helping provide meals for families in need during the pandemic and beyond.

Around the time I started writing the instrumental for this song, she was unceremoniously let go from her position, blamed for the mistake of another colleague, while she was on a brief (but overdue) vacation.

The title track on Low on Foot was written for my mom. She dedicated herself to public service, working as a Social Worker in Philadelphia for 20+ years.

The new Slow Mass record is amazing. I never really know how to describe their music to people other than just saying, “it’s really, really fucking good”. Give it a spin and you’ll see. Easy guarantee to be on my 2025 Favorites list. tidal.com/browse/album...

I quickly recorded some percussion, keys and guitar to a couple tracks, but my favorite are the textures on “Out of Luck.” The idea came to me as I was falling asleep (as most ideas do), then Sean laid down several beautiful brush layers around my insane mic’ing setup.

Drew and I were talking about us adding something to a single song. However, he sent me the whole record saying “just send me whatever you hear.”
