Hey Beast, def not man. I supported your product for quite a while. What I had built was different. It didn't manage from Discord. If I really wanted to compete with you don't you think I would have dug my heels in and just kept it up? You talked to me enough times to know I have good intentions.

Ugh. I give up. Your screenshots literally see me offering to help them. I even introduced them to a dev friend of mine to help with some bugs that they were struggling with because they couldn't find a team to solve some of the underlying tech issues.

I'm not around VRC as much as I would like. I work too much. So few people in VRC actually know me but so many seem to have an opinion on me. I wish people would just take 10 minutes to talk in VRC and ask me anything before hating on me on this platform. I will meet anyone if they want to chat.

As far as the "Architect" thing goes, that was a place holder while we were building out the system. If you look, we've never promoted ANY supporter tier before as it wasn't launched. Unfortunately I left a link open during dev and that place holder was screenshotted which sucks. :(

I've never replaced a soul with AI. I support more creators then most in the scene right now. Hate for supporting creators so I get to build worlds that I love is a crazy take. You're right, I'm not around a lot. I work too much. If you ever want to meet, you might find you have a different take.

I would love to see the development of some model that makes it fiscally sustainable to pay more artists in VRChat, without ruining what everyone loves about the space. Nobody's gotten it right yet, but it's worthwhile to see people try.

Yep, I totally understand. That's why I just pulled it.

That was the thing. It was free. Few people would have ever upgraded. If I was lucky a few paying customers on the crazier tiers would have covered the hosting bill. It even made free club websites for people. You couldn't even pay for it at launch. Paid tiers didn't work. I understand on AI stuff

I'd love to talk about this. You're right. A real conversation is overdue. Could we just meet and talk in VRC - no BlueSky? I really want to learn how other people feel about this and others have been doing this far longer than me (clearly).

We are going to formally launch our soon. 100% of it will always go to the creators, staff, and artist. I'm fortunate enough to have a good career and I will never take one cent from it. If we ever had excess, honestly, we'd just create more content.

Also, just to put this to rest. I'm a digital marketer and product guy and have been making these kinds of experiences, not in VR, as a career for a long time. I want the people that work on SANCTUM to also have real careers doing this. They're talented and committed. They deserve it.

Melons/Jaime - I pay for it out of my own pocket. This is my hobby and my passion. Helping create SANCTUM bring me joy so it's worth it. And to be honest, the investment I make isn't sustainable in the long run. I'm hoping at some point people who love SANCTUM will help me at some point.

But a big point of that piece is that maintaining a subculture is hard because if you put the wall up too high, or get too fucking angry and chase out people all the time, then you are basically creating an unsustainable culture where it becomes inevitable that entropy will eventually kill it.

There was no $200 tier to be clear

Yes we have been dogfooding this for a while now and other communities had been testing privately. Free tier would have been good for 95% of all communities. But not the point, that want the big mistake that I had to learn here.

Yeah, I screwed the pooch on this. The paid tiers didn't even exist yet. It was a concept of what could have been for others but were things I had made for me but not made shareable yet. Maybe the open source community could do something with it. You had the right idea.

I'm thinking of taking your advice and releasing it as open source. I think it's the only way for people to truly understand that I really had built this for the community. There's no way to make money on something like this. That was never the goal.

I would say that I have at least 400 to 500 hours of my personal time wrapped up in the project. This is definitely not some vibe code make in a weekend garbage. Either way, I should have worked with devs and the community on this. I did it wrong.

I hope you don't me chiming in. I'm not a techbro but I have been in digital marketing my whole life. I'm deeply involved in the creative process of Sanctum. It is my creative outlet. I think creators shouldn't have to have another job so they can make worlds on the side.

The tool did something totally different. I went out of my way to not do anything that the other ones did. I made it because I couldn't find a tool to do it for the back-end of event mgmt. It wasn't a DJ directory or an event listing site. It was managing the "back of house" of community mgmt.
