Anyone know someone who works for the #wnba, or a team like the #valkyries, especially in marketing? Here's a slam-dunk idea for their branding: partner with a quality makeup brand to sell team-specific makeup lines, have the players model them. Is this a no-brainer?

For now. We had better change that embrace the ICC (requires an act of Congress) to help bring these people to justice.

Also.. media allow us to share experiences as humans. If my version of (games, art, movies, fiction, news) ends up different from everyone else’s, we don’t have a common reference anymore. A computer tailoring this stuff is pointless and destructive.

I really have to wonder about how history will be taught in the future. Like, are these posts gonna show up in textbooks so people can see via primary source what a fucking dumb, inept shit of a person he was? There’s no sugar-coating this stuff.

What should be journalists: “That’s the dumbest and most inaccurate definition of socialism anyone has ever spoken, can you talk about actual socialism please?”

Honestly why does the Speaker have this much power? I expect my representation to not be summarily ignored by the fiat of one person.

I can only hope their teams’ own fans boo them and make them feel their shame for dragging the sport into the gutter.

Can you imagine the crowd Obama would get packed into a high school gym for a second midterm rally? Oh, we don't have to, he did it plenty of times: in Bridgeport CT, Las Vegas NV, Marlboro MD ... gyms packed, SRO .. thousands of people, hitting the fire code limits every time.

Don’t worry, they’ll tell us all the problems are because “the Democrats won.”

YES. It's why it's so important that we hold enough people accountable and enact reform (e.g. SCOTUS) to prevent it. We also have to stomp out the ignorant, manipulable MAGA movement. Not with violence, but by actually helping government work for everyone and ensuring these people see the benefits.

Just to be clear semantically on his treason: while the president did not “invite” an attack (the use of the word “let” is colloquial) he did state unequivocally he would be content with an outcome where these cities were sacrificed for the war effort. Sacrificing 5M US civilians is good with him.

One big problem is education. Lots of us knew since forever, since The Apprentice, that he was a charlatan. A bunch of Americans couldn’t read the blatant signs of his lying, self-aggrandizement, and narcissistic personality disorder.

I think Tapper was charitable in calling whatever Bessent was looking at “data” and could have challenged that it exists at all.

The sad thing is it was obvious they shouldn’t be believed based on their history. But people (and some Senators) wanted to believe, or pretend to, that these nominees would subordinate themselves to the norms and morals of society and our institutions, and not exploit the power the were granted.

Exasperating how it’s common knowledge and established fact that rape victims suffer lots of challenges in coming forward, yet people still say dumb shit like this. Empathy-starved misogynists nod along, actively preventing trauma victims from healing or getting justice. F all the way off MK.

I hear that you want me to weigh your perspective, Jared, but I’d prefer a jury and judge be the ones to decide how to handle you and your situation, thank you very much.

Greg @slobak.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Good thing the vast majority of lawyers that will work for them are craven henchmen who barely have a law degree. As long as a judge is anywhere on a reasonable spectrum (not SCOTUS, not Cannon for example) they will get justice. Eventually.

Satirical doctored image of Eric Schmitt gloating at a hearing while an aide holds up a poster showing an image of Hudson Hawk and a movie theater as dramatic background for Jack Smith's staff's texts.

Smith: "That is false. I stayed in that night and watched my favorite movie, Hudson Hawk." Schmitt: "You are vile, sir."

I just wish he had gotten dunked on harder at the time. It's great Klobuchar called him out, but I imagine she could have laid out how transparently stupid that was, on the record.

I like Mamdani but this just squeezes incentives from one place to another, it doesn’t actually change the economics. Supermarket margins, even Target and Walmart, are razor thin like 5%. Stores would respond by (maybe gradually) marking up everything 10%.

Greg @slobak.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Yes, it’s a political game. They can talk to Republicans and try to get the votes, but that happens in back rooms not on X. That said.. forcing another vote on the record, with the presentation of crimes seems good. But likely more successful after actual investigations in subpoenas.

Greg @slobak.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
They will impeach when they have the votes in the Senate. Until then, they can start investigations and legislate. Thing is, we already have laws—they’re being broken and not prosecuted, and Congress can’t change that.

It’s almost like something just kept iterating without keeping a big picture in mind and added all these hacks and forgot to clean up stuff .. I hope it doesn’t take even longer to clean up than it did to make it, ffs.

It's the super dumbest. SI (ASI) actually means a specific thing already, and not ALL AI has to or will ever be smarter than humans. So this is just confusing and wrong. It's like renaming "plants" to "flowers" because plants don't sound pretty enough.

Greg @slobak.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Fair enough, but I think given the context of this post—years of newsworthy evidence being put in front of all of us—asking yet again to see same evidence is an indication of willful ignorance, not curiosity. And the conversation has progressed. Yes, please look at examples. Ask Claude even.

Greg @slobak.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
You’re getting a bad reaction because you said “show the evidence” as if it isn’t .. all in our faces. There are now dozens of documented instances, in the news, some cited in this thread, where a GOP affiliate had claimed fraud and it turned out THEY were acting fraudulently. Catch up, we need you.

Surveillance pricing is exploitative and anti-free-market. It further consolidates information and power in just one side of the economy. Every purchase has a price range acceptable to both buyer and seller—this practice allows the seller to push it maximally to their benefit: very unfair.

It’s funny because our president is incapable of learning new things by reading words or looking at pictures!

I mean, sometimes it's legit, like if Worf is talking to Data in ST:TNG "With all due respect, sir..." But yeah most of the time this is leveled at people that do not deserve respect for their behavior.

If we had the political will, we could pass laws or a constitutional amendment limiting the pardon power, and even making that limit retroactive or triggered on some presidential offense. I really doubt this would happen, but it could be done, there is a world in which these people see justice.

All this effort people (especially the GOP) go through to try to explain his actions, his motives, the 5-D chess, tariffs, Epstein, bad diplomacy, etc... this is the simplest and most obvious explanation. It fits all the copious data we have on his behavior, every single bit of it.

I wonder if lots of vocal public officials (e.g. Newsom, Pritzker, AOC, etc.) should be labeling Trump a pedophile rapist whenever they talk about him. By casually doing this all the time they can force people to either assimilate it into social consciousness or address it openly; either is good.

Yeah, and of course they’re going after the lowest hanging fruit first. They just seem so unaware of the damage they are causing and how unhelpful they are to the average person; great for business, bad for people. So they build no trust for when more exciting helpful stuff may come along.

Out of all the convicted crypto scammers, why hasn't SBF been pardoned by Trump yet? Is it that he didn't grift hard enough? Or is it because the money kinda was going to some good stuff and Trump only likes it when it goes to bad stuff? What a stupid timeline we're in.

Maybe this is a sign of high fluency, being able to inject modifiers in the middle of words in a way that sounds natural even if not technically correct? Then again, as I try it that isn’t the optimal place to substitute “fucking” so yeah they are just fumbling it.

They would be so much more credible if AI were being focused on tackling actual drudgery and tedium (for most) like washing dishes and doing laundry and bulk admin work, instead of creative pursuits like writing, designing, and communicating.
