Came back to correct myself 😂 T Kingfisher released a third book in her sworn soldier series, not second. I don't think her writing is scary but her books are short and her descriptive language is really enjoyable so could be a good ease back into reading! 😋

His writing is really interesting though he is gore-ier. Grady Hendrix is popular for a reason, balances comedy and horror well, though he isnt my cup of tea. T Kingfisher just came out with a second book if you like series more than stand alone stories

Ghost Eaters by CM Chapman fucked me up and i spent a lot of time dissecting it after. It's both literally and metaphorically about addiction so its not for everyone but God Damn. A lot of recs others have left are good too. Clive Barker is a household horror name so he's worth checking ...

Grey Dog by elliott gish is one of my favorites and is incredibly slow build. Historic fiction with a woman questioning what's real and what's in her head. We Have Always Lived in the Castle id consider classic. It's from the queen of domestic horror herself Shirley Jackson ...

Oooh im a huge horror fan. It would help to know what some things youve liked in the past are? Gore vs psych vs queer vs thriller etc. And more classic vs contemporary

I'm trying to find the bloodied cowboy in the canyon but not seeing him. Is that print no longer available? 🥺
