My sources tell me there could be a recording of the hilarity that ensued! Stay tuned!!! ps.: rumor has it a panelist made their entire score out of another panelist's fart sounds. maybe that's why akash is making that face who knows

130

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 10/09/2026

I told Akash I would be at the panel. He assured me, multiple times, "Oh no, Star, don't worry about it, you don't have to come." I said to Sabrina earlier that day, "Oh, you're on that panel later tonight, aren't you?" She was none the wiser!!!!

They were then given just ONE MORE HOUR to redesign a video game cutscene - using at least 3 of those sounds. They presented their findings. BUT !!!! they were forewarned of SHENANIGANS !!!!

My album of eclectic electronic experiments is now available on Spotify! This Shit Grooves (or This Sh*t Grooves on Spotify, to appease our puritan overlords) is a rare collection of not-videogame-music written by yours truly!

"Dreamy Lights" is my take on the main theme for an in development title! It's from the same title as the 'sinister creature' theme I shared a little while back. Our focus was capturing a certain kind of nostalgia (hence the old-timey strings) and working in a little bit of (digital) Magic*

I GOT IT BACK!!!! and! I updated my blog.

160

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 15/07/2026

The Instagram account that I have been building for nearly a decade has been terminated. Exactly one week ago, I posted a few takeaways from my talk, "The Solution is Money: A Practical Approach to Diversity in Game Audio." I deleted a few hate comments I received. I am unsure if this is related.

More privilege = better odds. If we want an industry where everyone has a shot, we have to commit to making the changes that give less privileged people better odds.

130

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 07/07/2026

When I introduced the CEO of (redacted)** to a pair of young developers seeking advice on getting into the industry, he asked them, "How rich are your parents?"

120

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 07/07/2026

Unfortunately, the systems we've built have consolidated wealth and privilege in the hands of some people disproportionately in comparison to others.

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 07/07/2026

When I presented "The Solution is Money: A Practical Approach to Diversity in Game Audio," at @oursoniclandscape.bsky.social earlier this summer, I wanted to make myself absolutely clear - there's no problem with being privileged.

I appeared in a magazine! The December 2025 edition of the Percussive Notes magazine, presented by the Percussive Arts Society, featured a story on Dr. Marco Schirripa's @marcoschirripa.bsky.social PIXEL MASTERWORKS project, which I was absolutely honored to be a part of.

I don't often get to join game teams super early, but this was a wonderful exception. 'sinster creature' is my track from a currently in-development title! This is the theme of a playful character with some... questionable intentions 😈

I don't appear on a lot of podcasts, but this was a special occasion! I appeared on @pixelpizza.bsky.social a while ago and I was invited to share for the 200th episode special! I mentioned the Calico vinyl, my piano-centric album "Flower Fields," our performance with Rebecca Sugar, and more !

When I review my life experience and the things that have made me feel joyful (aka, "gender euphoria"), or the "impossible" things that I have earnestly wanted for myself

170

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

For the confused: Am I, Star, trans? Putting aside for a moment the fact that I am literally transing my gender (lol) - mostly, I'm just me. That's it.

1110

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

Parts of my life may have been easier if I'd known sooner, but I revel in my ability to be a safe space for those people. I take comfort in my ability to answer all kinds of questions because, in many ways, I am as surprised as you are.

160

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

As I've continued this journey, I've found that I'm not the only one. I've talked to people who are a little queerer than they know just yet, maybe queerer than they're ready to share with the public.

180

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

The kind where you know some of what you are not, if not all of what you are, and some of the possibilities left could never be you... right? The kind where things seem screamingly honest in retrospect, but were quite difficult to figure out.

170

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

So, I have perspective. I know what it's like to live in a "conservative-lite" existence. The kind where you grew up in an environment where many kinds of queerness are acceptable, but some things are unquestionable facts of life.

150

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

and with nothing more than a "vibe" to go on, people often made mistaken assumptions about the nature of my sexual orientation. Sexual orientation and gender are not the same thing, folks.

160

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

It's interesting to discuss - I've lived most of my life cis-passing, but the signs were there. I lamented the lack of color in "male" fashion, my closest friends were always women or queer men

160

Star Victoria Power | Slide20XX @slide20xx.com · 01/04/2026

People still like video games. People still care about the people making them. We still care about each other. I don't have all of the answers, but as long as those three things are true - and we keep surviving - I'm sure we'll figure something out.
