FurAffinity (a furry focused online art gallery) is looking for funding after refusing to comply with advertiser demands. And oh boy are some of those advertiser demands pretty ridiculous. (alt text added)

A post from a FurAffinity developer blog which says:

What makes this situation frustrating is that the bar for what advertisers consider "adult content" is very very low. For example they consider plus size characters, two characters hugging, and "barbie doll nudity" to be adult content, despite these being normal everyday things that are not adult at all. This is why you may see other sites with restrictions on how characters cant be posed or dressed "too provocatively."

We receive a daily list of items that they have flagged as violations and have to sort through them. If they're legitimate violations, we re-rate them. If they aren't, we don't touch them. Submissions that are not violations of our policies are still held against us.

We have had many email conversations, Zoom calls, and even an in-person meeting with representatives to help resolve this to no avail.

There is also a SFW version of the first image that just has the regular ref and body marking ref combo. But it doesn’t seem worth posting.

⚠️: #Leather #Latex (?) #LiquidLatex (?) #Goo #GasMask #Smoking #FurryNSFW #Kink #OriginalCharacter I don’t think I trust them. God gives his best sex OC ideas to his lowest libido champions. Just a scribbly concept.

A sort of leather or latex gear creature, anthropomorphic, in a gas mask-like head and leather jacket. Covered in studs, spikes, chains and zippers. It’s wearing a hat, has feathery wings and ears, ans horns. It fingers look gooey. It says “don’t worry, I’m an angel…”

Absolutely. And I’ll say the community does have it’s issues with consent (as does non-furry communities), I don’t think it’s fair how some people assume the worst. Ignoring consent and the comfort of others is still behavior that’s looked down upon whether you’re in an adult only space or not.

The balance between adult spaces and spaces for minors is a balance and both need to exist. Someone’s experience in the community is entirely what they make it. As someone who considers their art and presence to be adult oriented, I’m excited to know of an 18+ convention this close to home.

Through this I’ve learned that there’s a disappointing amount of people that don’t understand that 18+ does not inherently mean people are walking around with their genitals out and fully aroused.

If you enjoy my less erotic art please check out the main account in my bio. If any mutuals have tips on processing things like this feel free to just leave it in my DMs. I need all the insight I can get. But I do plan to seek professional guidance again soon for a variety of reasons.

There’s a lot of need to process & now I don’t feel I need to declaw the feelings in my own head. I need to stop trying to make an elephant fit into a shoebox so I can shove in my closet & try to forget about. But to say “there’s an elephant in front of me. & it’s stepping on my foot. & it hurts.”

I know people aren’t tapping their feet waiting for me to post here, but just so you know, expect there to be less activity here than usual. The relationship with my sexuality feels like it was knocked back to square 1 & there’s been a heavy discomfort with it all for a bit now, unfortunately.

It’s over the counter in the USA and does not require a prescription so it’s been convenient for my circumstances. Just check exp date. I’d still talk with a professional to see what works for you, but I don’t regret being on it. It does what it needs to and hasn’t caused me any issues. Good luck!

I have experience with Opill, it’s a progestin pill (no estrogen). After a year of use I can’t really pinpoint any side effects other than irregular (and usually lessened, or sometimes skipped) period/period symptoms. Maybe increased appetite in the first few months too.
