I spent a bit of time substitute teaching recently, mostly high school, and I find it endlessly amusing when students see a sub in the teacher’s seat and say some variation of “Yesssss, no Mr./Mrs. X today!” Like how bad do you have to be for students to prefer some random stranger over you? 😂

Random question, but did Newbalance shoes start cheaping out on material? My last pair of good shoes were numbered NBs. They lasted 10+ years of daily use. Saw some at a store that looked almost identical, but the material felt so cheap and flimsy compared to my old pair, and way more expensive.

This is going to seem weirdly specific but to whoever okayed the design of the Zebra ZT510 203DPI label printer with no side loading and a tiny gap right where you feed the labels in: I hate you. I curse you daily without even knowing your name. I hope you step barefoot on a lego+ stub your toe. 😑

If any Linux developers are looking for something to improve, please ffs, improve the accessibility features. Someone recently was asking me about switching to Linux, but they’re sight-impaired, and use a program called “JAWS” that reads the screen, moused-over icons, etc to them.

The XFCE desktop environment with Garuda Linux is so good that I was able to dig up a 13+ year old laptop out of my closet, install that, and it’s now happily running again with daily use. E-Waste? What E-Waste? You mean my new web browser and video player? 🗿
