What's annoying is we could support webm on our side but that costs a lot. I'm just more annoyed this happened without any warning or notice. I'm really sorry for anyone that had been uploading their videos as webms. I'm going to have to take down support for the time being until something happens.

WEBM posts no longer work. They did in the past, but now the BSky PDSes will reject webm blobs unless they go through their video conversion endpoint. I don't know when or why this decision was made, but it's getting frustrating feeling like they're pulling the rug out from underneath me. ugh.

MAJOR UPDATE: You can now request to reset your password even if your bsky account handle has changed!! SkyScheduler will remember your last known at:DID and will message you the password reset code properly. If you were previously locked out because your handle changed, this has been resolved.

Lastly: There's a clamp on scheduled post dates, you can only schedule out to ~2 years from the current date. This feels fair, but I'll update it further if needed. If you have anything scheduled out further than this, your post should still be honored properly. Thank you for using SkyScheduler!

You will continue to login using your old handle as the username to the dashboard. Obviously, we cannot automatically update your login data to the dashboard, so you'll still have to do that manually. You can update the username used to login via the "Account Settings" screen.

This is also retroactive for almost all accounts (only 2 accounts could not be resolved). On top of this, previously SkyScheduler also could fail if your handles were not in sync. This is no longer the case. If you forget to update your handle? Your posts will still go live properly.

In order to make genAI look more useful, Github has made their security bot now show an account wide AI flag. Despite the fact that the account is used for many other things, now all usage will carry a genAI label, even if the action in question doesn't use genAI at all. Cool...smh

Getting alerts that bluesky is having issues pushing retweets on some of the eastern PDSes. Seems to be intermittent, you may notice some scheduled retweets may not happen at the correct times. Not much we can do. The service will retry multiple times before giving up.

Accidentally broke scheduling future reposts on as to have yet been posted posts a few days ago. I've properly fixed it just now. The service allowed it, but I made a typo while writing the client code for the feature, which caused an incorrect error message to appear.

Had to add some code to clean up bad facets that occur when usernames change on scheduled posts. I don't know why bluesky generates garbage facet entries on failure, but it does, and posts will be rejected. Posts will succeed now, but mention handles will be blank if they can't be resolved.

Yeah, if you .length a string with them, it comes out to 302, but both bsky and the client count show 298. The validator we use has an issue in it, which should be fixed in their next update. I'll check if it's fixed next patch cycle. github.com/SocksTheWolf...

Probably related to emoji encoding. Did you use any of the combine emojis? Those count as multiple characters in the sanitizer, so it would throw an error. What emojis did you use? If the length on bsky matches the length in the post, then the sanitizer is wrong, otherwise the counter is wrong.

I’ll make a note to double check the error handler and make sure it’s properly firing. The website should definitely not be blocking inputs when it tells you there’s a problem. Which browser are you using?

You have to manually click on the dashes (or use keyboard arrows) and enter the time section. I noticed some browsers do not properly render the time selector when doing date input and I haven’t figured out a way to detect and fix it yet without breaking all the other browsers.

Ugh. Some of the code files that I was working on did not properly upload when I pushed them from the train. Worked fine locally, but somehow did not get pushed live. This means a few posts got delayed from their post time. Will all be resolved within the next hour. It shouldn't happen again.

You can now write alt text on video posts. Version 1.9.1 with v11 definitions enables this feature. Posts that have yet to be posted can be edited and have alt text added to them.

Image service seems to be slow again today. If a post goes up that has an image frame but no image in it, bsky is just having some difficulties, the image will appear later.

Oh hey, you may have noticed a few things changed. I’ve improved some stylesheets so things look and respond better. And this just looks better now.

It’s now readable on mobile and on desktop!

No more icky weird line breaks. Also this UI properly scales now. Idk what the hell I was thinking when I first wrote the css

This update also introduced the ability (in the future) to have additional schedule timing options. So instead of every hour, there is the possibility of doing every 30min or other intervals. This feature isn’t live, but would likely start with more flexible repost times. Post intervals later?

Couple of little updates: * SkyScheduler will tell you what timezone it thinks you are in (this pulls from your browser) * Post truncation has been turned off. It should be now easier to find posts after they are posted. * Added better context handling. In theory, this could support i18n features
