Cetesh, the Abyssal Horror. Kitbashed by www.instagram.com/raegon_forge/ Painted by me. This model to me is what Chaos is about. Unholy mutations, unnatural proportions, grisly trophies, and pure horror. #warhammer40k #nightlords #minipainting #chaosterminator #chaoslord #saturnine

Skelepunk Gunslinger from @weprintminiatures.com I got the 55mm scale version for this. I attached a 3d printed blast effect to the gun. I'm now a collaborator with them, and can offer 10% off anything on their site with the code SKYNES1. #miniaturepainting #paintingminiatures #osl

Totally different to my norm. Vegeta from WePrintMiniatures. The Prince Of All (Two) Saiyans. Pure, unadulterated, badass. #miniaturepainting #sharethehobbylove #paintingminiatures #toyphotography #miniaturephotography #macrophotography #DBZ #celshaded #TFS

After a competition piece, I needed a break. So got this guy from @weprintminiatures.com in 55mm scale, and did him up in a cyberpunky synthwave lighting style. #osl #miniaturepainting #paintingminiatures #miniaturephotography #deusex #adamjensen #cyberpunk #synthwave

My diorama is complete. Normal neutral lighting from multiple angles. This is all paint, even the majority of the shadows are painted on. #chaosknights #paintingwarhammer #brutalisdreadnought #krieg #osl #diorama

**facepalm** I've been painting too much hot metal. I seen these and first thought it was the inside of a furnace with the hot light coming out.

The current status of my diorama. No fancy lights, this is all just paint. #chaosknights #paintingwarhammer #brutalisdreadnought #krieg #osl #diorama

Working on the craziest piece I've ever thought to do. Not only is it a diorama. But the entire thing is painted as if lit by light sources on the piece. Molten metal pouring on the front. Plus a blue light at the back. #chaosknights #paintingwarhammer #brutalisdreadnought #krieg #osl #diorama

So model on a black plinth raised up. Black backdrop (Darth Maxx from GSW). Multiple lights hitting different angles. It takes a bit of tinkering to get what works for you and the gear you have. I wouldn't go back to my phone camera, I can't get anywhere near as good a shot as with my DSLR.

I'm using a 15 year old DSLR camera I got second hand. The most important thing is good lighting. Having not just a light above, but a light in front or to the side too. I also put a piece of white card underneath to bounce light up. The backdrop is a black cloth, far enough away that it looks black
