iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

The past few weeks i’ve been (slowly) working on a short comic about embracing art later in life. The process has been both a headache and healing…as art tends to be.

friend challenged me to draw a giraffe as a way getting myself back to the (literal) drawing board. So here's this diva. But, does anyone else have problems with clip messing up the saturation on export?

God, I've been out of it for weeks due to bad art block. But a friend has asked me to make a comic for her zine, which I've never done before. Risky, right? But maybe that's what I need to get out of this funk.

So I just spent the last...15 minutes being like "Wow! Using a vector layer really does make the line art more crisp and clear!" And I haven't even been drawing on the damn vector layer 🙃

I kinda love these rough pencil sketches more than the final product. It's probably where I first got into draw from b&w manga #artfight #illustration #wip

Attack on Enoch by @stygianrivers.bsky.social I haven't attempted something with this much detail before, and I think I really prefer drawing full scenes to just characters floating in a background. That being said, holy moly, was the fatigue real during final stretch of this. #artfight

A dark-skinned gas station attendant dressed in green and yellow and a name tag that says "Enoch." He's fending on a spectral entity while trying to scroll on his phone. On the safety glass, there's a sign that reads "No ghosts allowed," however, multiple ghosts are seen around the counter. Enoch is having a very bad day.

Attack on Ociel by @strawberry-pockii.bsky.social I've never tried to do something with this much detail on it, it was a really fun challenge to try such a beautiful and wild design.

i'm a big sucker for a diegetic piece of art/literature serving as a mirror to the story's characters, so naturally the illustration of the poem about a silverleaf tree falling in love with a star from chapter 47 of WHA *had* to be redrawn as Qifrey and Oru ✨🍃 #WitchHatAtelier #WHAMangaSpoilers

digital fan art of Qifrey and Oruggio from Witch Hat Atelier. it is based on an illustration featured in chapter 47 of the manga, wherein the Silver Leaf Tree is reaching up towards the Star, who is sailing the sky in a boat.
Qifrey is depicted as a thin and tall light-skinned person with short curly white hair; his fingers extend into long silver wood branches, similar to the Silver Leaf's fingers in the original illustration. he is dressed in a long flowing gray tunic with long wide sleeves and his signature plaited high collar, the fabric caught at the waist with a wide etched leather belt decorated with tassels. on his head, there is a circlet made of black leaves and long spikes.
Oru has an average build, light brown skin, short straight black hair and a short goatee. he is wearing a white toga-like tunic draped over one shoulder, leaving his arms bare and the burn scars on his hands and forearms visible. there is a wide tasseled blue sash around his waist, and, like Qifrey, Oru has a crown on his head, his shaped like a collection of stars.
the characters are placed facing each other, Qifrey on the right and Oru on the left and upside down. Qifrey is sitting on the gray branches of a silver wood tree, reaching with one hand for a star right next to Oru's chest; he is looking at it with wonder and quiet excitement. Oru is kneeling in a small boat, one arm raised and the hand placed on the end of an oar handle, which is standing vertically; the other arm is resting against his thigh. he is looking at Qifrey's face with a smile.
there is water around the boat, dyed pink and soft orange with the light of the star, the upside-down wave foaming and curling towards Qifrey, while the silver wood branches reach for Oru. behind the characters, the sky is a pale sunrise blue, with smaller stars and sea spray shimmering all around them.

where my heart is

an illustration of qifrey and olruggio from witch hat atelier. qifrey holds a slumbering olruggio in his arms, as he looks up, tear-filled with determination and misery. branches sprout up from where olruggio's head rests on qifrey's chest, where qifrey's pointed cap rests at the far most branch, its long ribbon wrapping around the two. the border encasing them features the landscape of the naakiwan downs, one with qifrey's atelier and the other of it in ruins with qifrey and olruggio exploring it as children. as the border descends, it features a series of images depicting olruggio and qifrey at various stages of their lives.
