Todd Rundgren will always be one of my all-time favorite artists...but don't ask me what the hell he was talking about in that interview about video games and female pop artists!

When it comes to the “Sling Blade,” everyone remembers “I like me them French fried p’taters, mm-hm,” but I hardly hear anyone mention Dwight Yoakam’s performance as Doyle, the abusive drunk boyfriend. Which is a shame because he was fucking great in that role! #MovieSky youtu.be/WjzAGtVwzsk?...

I know Taylor Swift just released some new music, but have you considered giving dark ambient a chance? #darkambient #ambientmusic #musiciansky

*Technically* Taylor Swift has as much right to remain silent on Palestine as she does to speak up….but I do wonder where the drive to “be on the right side of history” we saw in “Miss Americana” went.

As we all know, Taylor Swift tends to release deluxe versions of her albums on the same day other female artists drop new albums. The Showgirl Deluxe album dropped the same day Ms. Rachel’s debut album came out. Is our favorite billionaire coming for Ms. Rachel now? She better not! #musicsky

Taylor Lorenz’s recent interview in Bari Weiss’s The Free Press actually doesn’t surprise me. It’s all the same: get called out for your racist behavior, start drifting towards the Right.

With most extreme metal genres, most of the people are cool and down-to-earth, despite writing songs about blood, guts, and Satan. Black metal people, OTOH, are like, “Nope, it’s not an act. We really do worship Satan and believe in survival of the fittest.”

Random fact: You know the scene in Goodfellas where Jimmy Two-Times says, “I’m gonna get the papers, get the papers?” I only learned a few years ago that by “papers,” he meant horse racing results. I thought he was talking about the New York Times or something.

“If a king cannot rule over his own family,” her father often said, “how can he rule over a kingdom?” Beleza, from fantasy synth artist @skyloremusic.bsky.social, tells the story of a princess reclaiming agency in a patriarchal society, which transcends both time & reality itself.

Hadestown is alright. The music and performances are great, but some of the lyrics are repetitive (yes, we know Orpheus was a poor boy!), it’s a bit too long, and the guy who plays Orpheus doesn’t have much charisma. But it’s not completely terrible.

Yeah, Andy Serkis was great in the LOTR trilogy, but Brother Theodore’s unhinged portrayal of Gollum in the 1977 Rankin/Bass Hobbit cartoon deserves more credit!
