Then theres the 2nd way i mentioned earlier. People some how thinking that the smart ai in fiction is some how the real world version of robots we have. and its just not and its so dumb that i dont even want to get into it.

Alpha-Beta from inside job reached "true ai" being smart enough to rewrite his own code in a way that makes him smarter. If you let chatgpt rewrite its own code, in about 5 hours the whole thing would be completely fucked.

one is thinking that the dumb ai we have hear in flesh world is the same thing as fiction. people thinking the robots from portal are just dumb ai using data sets. Not understanding that these bots are smart and thinking creatures to a degree.

Generative AI is THE most valuable... anything today and if you want money for just about anything putting "optomised for ai" or "AI powered" is a sure fire way to get people to throw money at you.

And its not even just the consumers of these things. Its the very people making the damn stuff getting people (investors) to think that their ai is the same as the ai that is being so heavily funded. And... can you blame them?

this becomes an issue though when the rise of anti ai, people see *anything* that uses robots and just think its the same as mid journey, or Claude, using vast sets of stolen data to mash things together.

most of what you see being called "ai" in 3d animated movies is often interpolation. instead of making every frame of animation yourself you do the most important poses and have the robot do some math and it makes it smoother.

the thing is with ai in todays climate anything that uses anything that a comptuer does can technically be labed ai. if i say sony used ai in some of their most popular movies i would be 100% correct, and yet this isnt an issue fuck it im making this a thread
