Eh, tho we did NOT much associate w/ the Family Model (aka “Beagle” [Bomber-Eagle]) they’re pretty much lumped together in the community. I was strictly air-to-air in C’s then MSIP (Multi-Stage Improvement Program) A’s. The two-seaters (B’s & D’s) were most just for training in the air-to-air world…

Tho the Kuwaiti shoot-downs were friendly fire, it was during a war, not training, which uses different tactics and protections; most likely was bad IFF & recovery procedures propagated by incompetent leadership. But the aircraft had live flares, ECM, & chaff; the Japan incident likely did not.
