Here’s a preview of SkyArt’s onboarding in action 🙌 When you log in with your Bluesky account for the first time, you will be taken through this onboarding process where you can add a bio, pick a cover photo, and connect your social media (Of course, you can update these later)

🧵 We’re building SkyArt on top of ATProto, not as just another Bluesky client, but as a decentralized, artist-first platform built for the future. So we made a choice: we won’t auto-fetch your Bluesky posts even though we technically could.

AI art? Not on our watch ⛔ We hear you, loud and clear. #SkyArt now scans every upload in real time to block AI-generated art. Detection isn’t perfect (yet) and it’s costly to run, but I’ll try to fund it during beta because real artists deserve a space that respects their work.

We’ve been quiet because we’ve been building 👨‍💻 SkyArt now runs on a fully custom ATProto lexicon. → Custom post types for artists → Rich metadata → Native PDS support → Real interoperability This is not just another platform. This is the future of digital art – decentralized, expressive, yours.

UPDATE: You will be able to choose where your art appears! → Share Everywhere: Posts to both Skyart & Bluesky → Skyart Only: Keeps your art exclusive to Skyart while still storing them on your PDS Your art, your choice on how to share it 🙌 #skyart #art #artplatform

📊 Quick poll - when you upload your new arts to SkyArt, would you prefer it to appear directly on your Bluesky profile too or keep it separate while still storing it in your PDS? I want to make sure it works how you’d like, so let me know your thoughts! #skyart #art #artplatform

Switching to our own lexicon will take some time since I need to thoroughly test everything to ensure it works smoothly. This might push back the closed beta launch date I originally had in mind, but it’s a necessary step for a better experience. Either way, the beta is still coming. Stay tuned! 🙌

I want to tackle the specific problems artists face on other platforms and try to fix them for good with #SkyArt - Any suggestion is welcome!

Here's a preview of how your profile would look like on SkyArt. I'm still debating whether the design feels just right or needs some tweaks. Does this look good to you, or do you see room for improvement? 👉 You can change the banner, edit your display name & bio and include your social media links.
