Perhaps as a nod to that late-night collaboration, the second Easter egg in Dispatch’s coffee-making sequence is Jake Rodkin’s Very Good Whiskey.

Banang was a banana-flavored drink that first appeared as an inventory item in Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space. A late-night idea led Nick Herman and Jake Rodkin to create this Easter egg in a later episode. Banang references became a staple of Telltale's games. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9d8...

As explained by the Host as he leads you down the stairs at the beginning of the game, the Inventory was founded in 1919 in response to an early draft of the 18th Amendment that threatened to outlaw games and amusements in addition to alcohol. What a tragedy that would have been.

This Easter egg is a nod to Dispatch, the superhero game made by our friends at @adhocstudio.com. Our team and some of their team worked together at Telltale back in the day — including on Poker Night at the Inventory. And now we’re teaming up on a contest!

Can’t tell if this is a goof or not. Tycho is not our OC, no copyright intended. That said, Tycho’s 3D model was created from scratch for Poker Night and it was also the first time the character was voiced, so the team had to cast a voice actor and get all of it approved by Penny Arcade.

For the remaster, we used a little bit of the concept art on the newly-expanded "history of the Inventory" wall you see when entering the club at the start of the game. (Along with Kent Games & Amusements kitsch and a bunch of definitely-accurate historic photos from the early days of the Inventory)

As a space, the team wanted The Inventory to feel like a cathedral dedicated to the feeling of hanging out in a bar playing games with your friends. We looked at our favorite San Francisco bars (like House of Shields) and elevated them to cathedral status with a giant library and vaulted ceiling.

The Inventory was meant to be a space dedicated to gaming, packed full of detail. We didn't really pack it that full in the end, but we had some classics like everyone's favorite objects - crates! d20s! - as well as an homage to the Sims' plumbob, as different light sources around the club.

Telltale concept artist Jesse Maccabe painted a series of small moody pieces and these detail studies for what the Inventory could look like. We wanted the space to feel secluded, intimate and comfortably shabby, but also a little unsettling in how imposing and old it was, and Jesse captured that.
Stylized painting of a murky back room of a club, lit with warm incandescent lighting. Paintings and a dart board line the walls, and a window in the back looks out to a closed red velvet curtain. Painting by Jesse Maccabe of Telltale Games, depicting a back room poker table in The Inventory, the setting of Poker Night at the Inventory. This room was not used in the game because the true "back room" nature felt too secluded and small for what the team wanted the main game to feel like.

When Poker Night at the Inventory first shipped in late 2010, we never shared much concept art from the game's production, because there just wasn't much! It was a tiny game made by a tiny team, even by Telltale standards, so there's never been much concept art to share, but here's a little bit! 🧵

Satan's famous deviled eggs.
Greetings, future employees. During a recent unfortunate episode of under-employment, I discovered this sinfully easy recipe for the creation of so-called "deviled" eggs. With these, your next backyard cookout can be almost as popular as one of my own!

6 eggs
1 1/2 tsp mayonnaise or salad dressing
2 Tbsp sweet pickle relish
Salt & pepper to taste
Paprika

1. Condemn six large, innocent eggs to a seething cauldron of boiling water for 10 agonizing minutes. (I find that eggs from free range chickens work best, as the premature interruption of a carefree life adds a delightfully bittersweet tang to the final product.)

2. Place the eggs in a saucepan and subject them to cold water for one minute. This makes them easier to handle and also lets them know one last moment of relief before snatching it away in step 3.

3. Flay the eggs under warm running water.

4. Requisition a blade from the Ministry of Cutlery (form 2468A/32). Test its sharpness by stabbing a minion. Use the blade to slice the eggs lengthwise.

5. Using a spoon or talon, scoop the yolks into a bowl. Add salt, pepper, pickle relish, and salad dressing, then beat the mixture into submission.

6. Spoon or pipe the mixture into the soulless egg white halves.

7. Sprinkle with paprika to give them that appetizing blood-stained color. I recommend serving with pear and apple slices, but then I'm always encouraging people to eat more fruit.

And then there was Jurgen's Blutwurst recipe -- always a crowd-pleaser. 🧛‍♂️
Ja, this is my favorite Recipe from when I was just ein wenig Kindvampir. This was before my cruel und unloving Mother weaned me from solid Foods.

1 lb leaf Lard
10 lb Onions, diced
1/2 lb Butter
1 quart heavy Cream
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 tbsp pate Spice
1/2 gallon beef Blood

1) Remove the Skin from the leaf Lard (flaying works nicely und is quite fun!) und dice into teensy tiny Pieces. Smother the Onions well in butter until they stop screaming, let them cool to about Cadaver Temperature und add in the leaf Lard.

2) Add all the other Ingredients, stirring carefully when Blood is introduced. You don't want to waste any! Using a Funnel, fill pork Casings and twist to desired size. I like mine big and luscious... mmm!

3) Drop these Sausages into boiling wasser, lowering the Heat immediately to prevent bursting. And let me just say, It makes SUCH a mess when it bursts everywhere. I had to take my good Cape to the Drycleaners last time.

4) Using a small Pot or Ladle, keep the simmering Water in motion. Cook the Sausages for about 25 minutes, or until congealed to taste.

5) Using the tip of one Claw or silver Dagger, pierce one Sausage. If no Blood comes out, the Sausages are now well done und suitable for non-vampiric Guests. Remove from Water und lay on Sheet Pans lined with Towels.

This will make 8 pounds of the most delicious Blutwurst! For an even tastier Recipe, substitute beef Blood with something a little more... rich. I recommend the corporate CEO perhaps.
