Took Sabo on his first van camping trip. He was a good boy, though he loses some points for demanding half the bed space and then throwing a tantrum whenever we stopped petting him.

Saw a big northern red-legged frog while camping. They were incredibly chill. Just sat on a mossy rock, unmoving, staring at the river for three hours. I know this because i was sitting near by also staring at the river unmoving for three hours as i was painting… Shoulda painted that frog 😔🐸

Yeah our dramatic comfort-addicted dog was one of the reasons we wanted to get a van. Give him a place to get away from the camp chaos~ That and we got tired of waiting for those 3-4 months of summer to spend time in the outdoors. A van makes rainy day camping more enjoyable~

Its SO cozy 😭 We’ve got 10gal of running water via a simple electric pump. Our stove is just a butane camp stove for now. Fridge needs an upgrade. No bathroom since we didnt want one with space and maintenance concerns, but we’ll be getting a cassette toilet and portable shower down the line.

Highly recommend renting one during a vacation to try! You learn a lot about what you want vs dont before youre financially on the hook. Oh man a mobile art studio would be so cool! Gunna load up the oil painting kit and do some painting down near Mt Rainer next weekend hopefully~

Gods yeah… feels like the only way to mentally survive is to keep the work-persona as seperate as possible… which is kinda impossible when part of what your selling is your personality or creativity. Having THAT be the thing that keeps you fed is such a mental-emotional war.

The size is great, but its less user friendly as you have to manually upload the epubs and download a replacement OS because the stock one is bad (that bit is not as hard as it sounds to do tho) So far read the Tao Te Ching, the Diamond Age, and im catching up on the Gentleman Bastard series now.

Got a one of those xteink e-readers a couple weeks ago. Love the thing! Small enough it comes alongside the wallet and keys every day. Find myself reading pages instead of doomscrolling when bored. Been using it daily for two weeks, still haven’t recharged it. An incredible camping accessory. 📖

Our original weekend plans got smoked out, so we last minute pivoted to backpacking along a river on the olympic peninsula. Not the kind of trip i would have done otherwise but ended up being a wonderfully relaxing time. Saw a river otter pass our camp and so many shooting stars at night.
