I spent 72 hours checking the posting times of every Gazan account I saw fundraising. More than 2/3 of them were inconsistent with Gaza but consistent with Myanmar or Cambodia, where hundreds of thousands of people are trafficked into doing scam work under threat of violence or death.

“Vehicles with higher, more vertical front ends pose greater risk to pedestrians. Vehicles with especially tall front ends are most dangerous to pedestrians, but a blunt profile makes medium-height vehicles deadly too.” Deadly by design. And they know it. www.iihs.org/news/detail/...

“And I’m like, what do you mean, you ‘do your own research’? You running a double-blind study in your living room, dawg?” - A guy walking ahead of me with his friends on a NYC sidewalk in 2021, also my favorite overheard dialogue of the entire pandemic

NYT headline: “Kennedy Advises New Parents to ‘Do Your Own Research’ on Vaccines”
Subheader:
“In an interview with Dr. Phil, the health secretary offered false information about vaccine oversight and revealed a lack of basic understanding of new drug approvals.”

It's over Anakin, I have the high ground!

It's time to start reminding people: LILIES ARE DEADLY FOR CATS. The leaves, the petals, the stem, even drinking a bit of vase water or licking a few grains of pollen from their fur can cause fatal kidney failure. ⚠️ www.fda.gov/animal-veter...

Color photo of a white lily blossom, overlaid with a black skull and cross bones and text that reads “no lilies for kitties”.

Today is #NationalCabbageDay, which is always a good opportunity to remind everyone that red cabbage can be used to make a colourful pH indicator solution! www.compoundchem.com/2017/05/18/r... #ChemSky 🧪

Infographic on making a pH indicator from red cabbage. The indicator can be made by roughly chopping cabbage, boiling, straining, and collecting the liquid. The extract contains anthocyanin pigments which give different colours in solutions of different pH, ranging from red, through purple, to green and yellow.

Instead of recommending that recently laid off BioWare devs risk everything to start their own studios (lol like it's so easy?) You could take a bit of that energy and buy games from some that already did ☺️ Eternal Strands just launched this week and I'm pretty sure Stray Gods is on sale!

Bumping the threadstarter to repeat the plea again: PLEASE stop using follow-farming hashtags like #NoDemUnder1k, #NoDemUnder5k, #BlueCrew, #FBR, #FBPE, etc -- any "use this hashtag/like this post/repost this post/reply to this post/etc to get followers". You are providing cover for bad actors.

#PublicDomainDay
