Mushroom season is on, one of my favourite times of the year. And every year I try to identify a new edible mushroom to pick. This year it is the gypsy mushroom (last pic) - very easy to pick and clean, and great in all kinds of dishes or simply on a pan with salt and pepper.

From the Ethnographic open air museum near Tbilisi, where you can freely explore about 70 traditional buildings from various parts of Georgia with all their details, local culture, and interior. Use the Bolt app to get a taxi there and back as its unbelievably cheap. Georgia 8.26

The apple processing plant in Melinda Factory in Val di Non. All automatic, and very meditative. I imagine a few live cameras would be a great “count the sheep” alternative for people having trouble sleeping ^^

Arrived in the village of Flavon, known for its extensive apple orchards. And it just happens to be harvest time as well! The entire village is in action, lots of ultra narrow tractors on full speed buzzing through the narrow roads, baskets set up for harvest start, and apples wherever you look!

The magnificent Medea Sanatorium which has sadly been walled off and non-bribable security placed in front just about two weeks before I visited cause some tourist fell off a terrace or something… so drone and distant shots only but go google how majestic it looks inside! Georgia, 8.2026

The locations are absolutely mad!! I wish i could 3D scan the entire area. Would be great for video game worlds. Sadly the sanatoriums are gradually being walled off and sold to some saudi milionaries to tear down and build some luxury hotel chain block instead 😞

Kind of. There is a really lovely small forest around it, and the area has been abandoned for so long that if there was ever anything more, it has since been taken over by nature. The entire sanatorium area is like a giant park with huge buildings overgrown by nature and roads and walking paths.

Bathhouse nr 6 inside. There are corridors of waiting areas and each door leads to a small changing area and then the individual bath. The baths are separated by walls, with the end section open which forms a long corridor for the staff to walk through and perform all the different treatments.

Bathhouse nr.6, the only open working bathhouse left (besides another that i think is not open to random people). They clean the bath tubs after each user and replace the entire water, and you can get hydro massages and all kinds of very specific treatments. The water is also a little radioactive :P

Kiruna, feb 2025. Did you know that operating a bulldozer becomes part of the skills you need to comfortably get through the winter if you live quite remote with a larger property? The roads and paths ain’t gonna clean themselves ;) Even I had a go at it a few times, but in a different place.

Just reached Tskaltubo, only staying for a night, but went out exploring the old abandoned sanatoriums in the companionship of a very sweet (they all are) stray dog, and dad, who got a go at the camera. What an absolutely fascinating town!! Soon these places will be gone :(

Some ceiling decor inspiration from Parma, Italy :) Recently I’ve watched how a XR headset can help you draw such projects on a bigger scale. It might encourage or enable more people to decorate their homes where they’d otherwise not dare to try. The world could use more colour and playfulness 🎨☀️

Last month exploring Parma, Italy. The photos are of Italian soldiers who were captured by Nazi Germany after Italy changed sides in 1943. Around 600,000 were deported after refusing to continue fighting alongside Germany, many of them ending up as forced labourers.

A few more snaps of this summers drought, shot during a week long pet dog search and rescue mission at the Slovenian coast. The silly pooch was later found alive and well in a cave, of all places, which he fell into when he bolted out of his owners car and went solo exploring :)

Air Tractor appreciation post, frequenting various mountain lakes this year. This one is from Lake Bohinj. Luckily, a small rain curtain crossed Slovenia today, after a very long time. Hope more are coming, as it's been extremely dry this year with many (luckily small) fires.
