When I was a pharma rep, coworkers who sold lung cancer drugs tended to smoke for the same reason. It showed they believed in their product. Some had been with the company so long, their sales training included how to enjoy a cigarette w a doctor in case they invited you into their office to chat.

When her photos came out I spent a day looking at all of them. She was exceptional. Imagine taking all of those and never seeing them? She didn't develop most of the film - the guys who bought the boxes of her stuff did. She didn't even learn from reviewing her own work, just took pictures. Wow.

Close to your age. In the late 70s, in Bucks County PA, we were all out riding bikes around dusk and a pickup truck full of (inside and out, even hanging off of the back) hooded klansmen barrelled down Street Road out of nowhere. We were terrified.
