Your client doesn’t need to see the chaos on the “Don’t use” page. That’s what Previews are for. Pick the pages you want to share, get a link, give it a password (or don’t) and they can take a peek in any browser. We can’t make the feedback any better, though. Sorry.

Things you can do with corners in Sketch: - Round them on the Canvas (or in the Inspector) - Choose how smooth they are - Round them on boolean shapes - Set their radius to MAX (which sticks at any shape size) - Set them to Auto for perfect concentricity with their parent shape

Did you know you can copy a color from Sketch in your favorite format? Hex, RGB, HSL, SwiftUI, NSColor and UIColor (in their respective Obj-C and Swift flavors). We got ’em all covered. And we’ll remember what you picked for next time.

Overlapping stack items is nice but have you ever wanted to decide which order they overlap in? Well do we have an Inspector control for you!

Depending on how the design crit is going, you can take one of two approaches in Sketch: 1. Filter for unread comments, detach the comments panel, click each comment to go to the relevant layer, make changes, hit resolve, respond politely. 2. Mark all as read.

When we shipped stacks last year, the most common request was “but what about overlapping cards or avatars?” Well, you can do those now! Give your stacks a negative gap and your items will overlap. You can even choose the order they overlap.

“When I add borders to my stack items it messes up my layout!” We got you. You can exclude them from the layout now.

Sketch @sketch.com · 18/09/2026
You can give your items in your stacks a minimum and maximum size, so if they grow or shrink they stop at a sensible point. Naturally this only applies to items with a non-fixed size. If you fixed their size we’re going to assume you got that just right.

Two color picker tips for you: 1. Hold shift to select a color variable instead of a raw value. You have to be using a color variable to start with, of course. And you are, right?? 2. Scroll to make the loupe bigger so it’s easier to grab the right color in tight spaces.

Image backgrounds be gone! All it takes is one click. It’s fast, it’s accurate, and it all happens on your device. Go remove some backgrounds!

You can just… multi-paste things. (It works with Paste, Paste Over, and Paste and Replace.)

Oklab and Oklch gradients? Yeah, we got ’em. That’s it. That’s the post.

Sometimes you just want to paste a shadow, or a fill, or a border, or an effect… Luckily, you can! Use Option-Command-C to copy a layer’s properties, right-click another layer and choose what you want to paste. Also, holding Option while you paste replaces existing styles.

Connect your Sketch Workspace to Slack, paste a link to a document (or page, or frame, or preview…), and get a nice big preview right where you’re chatting. We’ve saved you a click, and possibly 2 minutes of your day. You can have that time back. You’ve earned it, champ.

Things you can do in Sketch now that you couldn’t do a week ago: 1. Give groups blurs 2. Add multiple shadows to frames (without fills) and groups 3. Use glass and fade simultaneously 4. Fade a layer with an existing lower opacity

Sketch @sketch.com · 27/08/2026
Sure you could use negative gaps in stacks to overlap your avatars, or you could create this cute guy like @raphaellopesph.bsky.social did ↓

Sketch @sketch.com · 26/08/2026
Next — support for shadows and effects in more places. Blurs on groups, multiple shadows on frames, simultaneous glass and fade effects, and some performance improvements to support it all. ↓

🆕 Better stacks! Blurs on groups! Glass and fade combined! It’s update day! 🆕 First up, we’ve added min/max sizes, relative sizing, negative gap and z-index order options to stacks. Plus a whole bunch of smaller improvements, all based on your feedback. ↓

In the new Inbox, you can filter notifications, see them arrive in real-time, get rich previews and relevant options to work with them. We’ve also added new notifications to give you a better idea of what’s happening in your Workspace. ↓

🆕 Better notifications and an all-new Command Bar in the web app 🆕 We’ve brought the Command Bar to the web app, Hit Cmd-K (or Ctrl-K on Windows) to bring it up and do a whole lot more without leaving your keyboard. ↓

ICYMI — we just shipped Oklab and Oklch gradients, multi-paste, a better prototype player and biiiiiiig performance improvements for Symbols and replace Libraries. Take a look ↓ skt.ch/edinburgh

Sketch @sketch.com · 23/06/2026
Our prototype player has a couple of neat updates: there's an option to keep the window on top of any others, and you can now choose if its contents change with your selection or stick to a specific frame. 🧵 ↓
130
Sketch @sketch.com · 23/06/2026
Speaking of pasting, you can now copy and paste pretty much any property from a layer — including size, position and prototyping interactions. All you need is ⌘⇧C. 🧵 ↓
260
Sketch @sketch.com · 23/06/2026
Next: multi-paste. You can now paste, paste over, or paste and replace across multiple frames, groups or layers in a single action. Paste behavior in general is also just a bit more predictable. 🧵 ↓

Sketch @sketch.com · 23/06/2026
🆕 A small-but-mighty update, full of good stuff™ for you! 🆕 First up — perceptual (Oklab) and vibrant (Oklch) gradients. Standard RGB blending can get a little muddy, but now you can have your gradients look smoother or more punchy. 🧵 ↓

Sketch @sketch.com · 21/05/2026
In order to create a variable, you need to define what color it is first, which is why the option to create is next to where you pick a color. You should be able to delete a variable when you right-click on it, providing it’s from that document and not a Library.
100
Sketch @sketch.com · 21/05/2026
The option still exists — I’ve highlighted it on your screenshot. Regarding your second point, is there a specific use case for having color variables in the custom pane, or more that you’d rather have one less click?
110
Sketch @sketch.com · 19/05/2026
If you hold ⌥ you should see an arrow when you hover that frame in the Layer list, clicking on that will take you to it!
110
Sketch @sketch.com · 07/04/2026
150+ other improvements and fixes! Drop multiple images onto the Canvas and we’ll arrange them in a grid, control fills and borders in combined shapes, a more usable Color panel, and so much more.
161
Sketch @sketch.com · 07/04/2026
A new eyedropper! Pick up and apply Color Variables, not just hex values, by holding ⇧. The loupe is more compact by default, and you can scroll to resize it.
161
Sketch @sketch.com · 07/04/2026
Better corners, all round(ed)! Smooth corners look way better on squircles and capsules. You can choose how smooth they are and use the new "Max" option to keep them fully rounded at any size. Want to round corners on combined shapes? Sure!
161
Sketch @sketch.com · 07/04/2026
Independent borders! Set borders per side on rectangles, frames, and graphics. All sides equally, a single side, or custom widths for each. Plus, set dashed borders to center neatly on corners.

Thanks to the crazy ones, the misfits, and the rebels at @apple for the last 50 years — and happy birthday! We quite literally wouldn’t be here without you all.

Finally, we now support drag-and-drop organization for folders, documents (and even selections that contain both!) in the web app. Combine this with folders you can nest as many levels deep as you need, and you’ve got a lot of flexibility for organizing your work. 🧵↓
110
Sketch @sketch.com · 27/01/2026
We’ve also added a full layer list for inspecting designs in the web app — making it easier to find layers, jump to them, copy links, grab CSS, or export your selection. There’s a handy new contextual menu, too. Also, you can invite the devs in your team to use this for free! 🧵↓

Next up — an all-new Slack integration. If you’ve ever shared a link to a document in your Workspace in Slack, you’ll know that… not much happens. Not anymore! Now you can connect your Workspace to Slack and get a nice preview. 🧵↓

Sketch @sketch.com · 27/01/2026
We’re kicking off the year with four new features — starting with previews! With previews, you can choose the pages and prototypes you want to share with clients, while keeping the rest of your document private. 🧵↓

[5/5] Got an existing website but no design files? Point Claude at the repo and ask it to build out all the relevant styles, and even entire pages, in Sketch for you. Again, you can have Claude check its own work by using our MCP server’s get_selection_as_image tool.
110
Sketch @sketch.com · 22/01/2026
[4/5] So far we’ve been talking about existing projects, but if you’re starting something new and aren’t hot on color theory, you can throw Claude an image and ask it to create a complimentary color palette based on it. Once you’ve got your colors, you can have Claude make them color variables, too.
100
Sketch @sketch.com · 22/01/2026
[3/5] Maybe you’re building out an icon set or a particularly large Library. Either way, you can automate a lot of the organization and keep your documents tidy with little effort. In this case, we can use Claude to order things by name, rename layers, apply colors, and even create Symbols.
110
Sketch @sketch.com · 22/01/2026
[2/5] If you’re mocking up a UI, you can use Claude to take the tedium out of swapping placeholder text with something more realistic. This works well if you’ve got Symbols with text overrides. If you’ve already got the text you need, Claude can use that in your designs, or generate some for you.
100
Sketch @sketch.com · 22/01/2026
[1/5] If you’ve got a set of dark and light Symbols, you can build out your UI using one set, then have Claude build the same screen using the other set. There’s no crazy setup here, just point it to the right Symbols. With our get_selection_as_image tool, you can have Claude check its own work.

Sketch 🤝 Claude Great with an MCP server We shipped our MCP server back in October last year. Here are five (of many!) things we’ve been using it for 🧵 ↓ (We’re big Claude Code fans here, but you can use any MCP-compatible client)

One more time for those at the back — dev seats in Sketch are free. All our developer handoff tools are available in any browser to inspect documents, grab tokens and download assets. We’ve got a nice improvement coming soon as well 👀 ↓

And while they’re in the web app, they can leave comments (which you can see in the editor), try out prototypes and inspect designs — all for free! ↓
