You could engineer it so its 50% random setting, which define what it is via premade rules, then 50% fine tuning to that archetype that it would fall into.

Its looking ok, the plankton feel is because your probably not putting in more rules, like nature does. For example if its predatory, it will have forward facing eyes, good hearing, generally physically fit/fast/ strong. If its prey side mounted eyes, herding behavior, herbivore so constant grazer

It is! It was designed with tablet use in mind, i got (a cheap) tablet to test it out, and i did not regret it, for me its so much better with a tablet rather than a mouse and im more of a coder than artist.

Im kind of doing the same thing, after my current project ends (planning for a game jam and making it, plus uploading changes to my old game) i want to make a game with 1 vs many combat in where the character grows in ability as you progress
