Skeets 1.32.0 is out. 🧵 The big one: Skeets writes your ALT text for you now - on-device. Drop a photo into the composer and the description is already there by the time you hit post. Edit it, regenerate it, pick a different language, or switch it off entirely.

• Auto-ALT-text written on your device. Add a photo and Skeets drafts the image
description text for you; edit it, write it again, or change its language. Needs iOS 27 and a
device with Apple Intelligence. Off switch under Settings → Composer.
• Post as any of your accounts - pick the account right in the composer, without
switching first.
• Recent searches are remembered, and sync across your devices.
• Notifications now come from our own service: quicker to arrive, better grouped, and you
can decide per category whether it covers everyone or only people you follow.
Subscription alerts now sit in the main list instead of their own tab.
• Links to mu.social open in Skeets instead of the browser.
• Posts shared from other apps finish sending even if iOS closes the share sheet early.
FIXED
• Auto-Thread: the Post button stayed greyed out on long posts.
• Search did nothing at all on Top, Latest and Users.
• Push notification settings quietly reverted instead of saving.
• Muted accounts were still shown in full when someone quote-posted them.
• Skeets Pro would not restore until the app was relaunched - and the Pro screen had no
Restore button at all.
• Posts with a link preview often failed to send when the preview image was large.
• Some people were stuck in a "session expired" loop after updating and could not sign
back in.
• Switching accounts could briefly show the previous account's notifications.
• Faster cold start.
CHANGED
• Haptic feedback is now off unless you ask for it - Settings → Composer.
• Shortened handles and swipe-to-like now start switched off.

Two small things you'll notice every day: Your recent searches are remembered again, and they follow you to your other devices. And tapping a post opens the thread instantly, instead of that little spinner.

And if something does go wrong, you're not starting over. Every upload in the queue can be paused, resumed or thrown away. Resuming picks up where it stopped instead of re-uploading the whole thing.

Skeets 1.31.0 is out. 🧵 The big one: your posts don't get lost any more. Hit post, then lock your phone, switch apps, whatever — the upload carries on in the background and lands on its own. Even if iOS shuts @skeetsapp.com down while it's working.

With the latest version you will be directed to the Personal Data Server where your data sits (usually Bluesky) and asked to authorize Skeets (which you prev. did with the password). That way Skeets never sees your password and it's way more secure for you.

There is a fix waiting to be reviewed by Apple that solves this for people running Skeets on macOS. It *should* fix your issue as well, but we haven’t received any reports like this from iOS users yet. Are you logged in via password or via OAuth?

This is so f**king amazing. I’ve waited 3y to be able to do this. Starting in iOS27 @skeetsapp.com will start generating Auto ALT text using the free on-device models. No data sent to OpenAI or anyone else.

🔐 Also in 1.30: Sign in with Eurosky/Bluesky/Blacksky/etc.. Proper OAuth sign-in, with cleaner logout and smoother account switching. App passwords still work exactly as before. 🔔 And if you use more than one account, push notifications now arrive for all of them.

Don’t like it? Stories/Yeets are on by default, but easy to switch off: Settings → Timeline → Feed display preferences → Show Stories Off means off — no story row, no fetching, no Stories tab.

Your stories/yeets live in a row at the top of your feed. Tap your own avatar to post one. A ring means someone has something new. Once you've watched everything the ring fades, and tapping opens their profile picture instead. Your own stories get a Stories tab on your profile.

Those are private drafts that are not saved on bluesky’s server. The sub gives you more extra functionality though so it’s not only drafts :)

Liking the new @skeetsapp.com update. The Germ integration (well, connection anyways, though integration would be swwwweeeet!) seems solid, the duplicate posts thing seems to have finally been nailed, and OMG am I thrilled to see the automatic threading of posts on the Pro version.
