heya 👋 (re)introducing Skeetdeck, an alternative web client for Bluesky. I don't think there's *ever* going to be a way for me to list every little neat thing about it, but please do check it out! skeetdeck.pages.dev

Heya, pushed a small update (R26.1) that makes video appears in the gallery view and embeds

Skeetdeck @skeetdeck.bsky.social · 13/09/2024

if I were to be honest, I don't think I have it in me currently to maintain this app properly. I'll keep it running for the time being but once OAuth becomes the standard for logins, you won't be able to login to Skeetdeck anymore. bear in mind that this is still far in the future.

📢 R25.3 is rolling out now ✨️ Threaded replies aka "Show replies in threaded view" is no longer experimental 🔇 You can finally mute threads!

screenshot of Skeetdeck showing replies in a thread, it's shown in a tree/threaded view, similar to Reddit.

this took a while because of some other concerns and having to figure out how to get the lines to actually render like that, but it ended up pretty neat.

Halo sobat Indonesia! Perlu bikin thread untuk AU karena panjang dan nggak muat di satu post? Coba cek Skeetdeck! Bisa disimpan sebagai draft juga untuk nanti. skeetdeck.pages.dev

Heya, just a small little update. I've updated the thread composer, raising the limits for self-threads from 9 posts to 25 posts. Hopefully that's reasonable, based on what I've seen so far, cheers!

Hey y'all, you should be able to access your direct messages from Skeetdeck if you sign in again but this time with an app password that has "allow access to direct messages" toggled on during creation.

Skeetdeck @skeetdeck.bsky.social · 23/05/2024

Until the ability to create said app passwords has been implemented, I'll be disabling chat functionality for now, sorry!

heads up, app passwords won't be able to use the chat service, but paul has told me that they're intending on adding a new scope that allows it

Decided I won't do it after all 🤞

Skeetdeck @skeetdeck.bsky.social · 23/05/2024

Just curious, to anyone using Skeetdeck... I wonder if anyone's actually making full use of the multi-account functionality that it provides?

142

Skeetdeck @skeetdeck.bsky.social · 22/05/2024

Skeetdeck will always be completely free and open source, no strings attached. The source code can be found here, which might prove useful to devs building clients on top of AT Protocol "from scratch" (it does not make use of @atproto/api) codeberg.org/mary-ext/skeetde…

📢 R20 is rolling out now Not much has changed since the last update, this release fixes the broken search functionality. The new `to:me` and `mentions:me` search filter should work as expected, alongside `since` and `until` which should filter according to your system's timezone.

Skeetdeck @skeetdeck.bsky.social · 01/04/2024

📢 R19 is rolling out now Moderation has now been revamped. Unfortunately due to lack of time, I haven't gotten around to implementing the ability to add other label providers yet, and I didn't want to delay this any further.

there's options to change the content filters for the "global" label definitions (pornography, sexually suggestive, graphic media, nudity)

Tired of seeing certain discussions? Skeetdeck lets you filter out posts based on your specified keywords, and you can easily turn them on or off at any given time. Now, you don't have to see the posts you didn't want to see 🙂

screenshot of Skeetdeck demonstrating the ability to add keyword filters, in this case we're filtering posts mentioning "Alf", alternative text are included in the filter as well.

By default it's configured to hide the posts behind a warning, so you are given the control to choose if you really want to see it or not, but you can always configure it so it removes the posts entirely.

Need to write a thread spanning several posts long due to character limits? Skeetdeck lets you do that! Simply click on the "add to thread" button and you can draft up to 9 posts in one go.

Skeetdeck @skeetdeck.bsky.social · 30/01/2024

📢 R11 is rolling out now - It's now possible to create new user lists and delete them from within the app - Adding users to lists should be more robust (hopefully) - List descriptions can now be edited to contain rich text like URLs and mentions
