who on earth is looking into buying Porsches and then filling out a survey to earn 25¢ in Google Play credits
a Google Opinion Rewards survey asking "Have you researched Porche vehicles in the past week with the intent to buy or lease?"

inflation calculators don't go back before 1913 so it's hard to tell what $100 in 1862 would be worth today, but it's safe to say we need at least a $3,000 bill
a snippet from Wikipedia: The United States one-hundred dollar bill is a denomination of United States currency. The first United States Note with this value was issued in 1862, and the Federal Reserve Note version was first produced in 1914the BLS CPI Inflation Calculator showing that $100 in January 1914 has the same buying power as $3330.20 today

oh hey this reminds me of Jeppifa!
when you get a certain amount of attention you risk reaching a point where, as my granny would say, you've gotten too big for your britches. the internet has, i believe, exacerbated this phenomenon, but it certainly did not create it. and the solution remains as it ever was: either get bigger britches, or get smaller; pick one quick tho, or else you'll tear a hole and show your ass

i'll use a staggeringly common occurrence for instance:Jeppifa is a casual user of Taggit, a popular social media platform. Jeppifa frequently posts about current events because they need an outlet to talk about what's happening in the world, and Taggit serves that purpose for them well. Over time, people begin to follow Jeppifa because they enjoy the commentary, and after a while it seems that Jeppifa is a decent source of information.

Now Jeppifa, seeing their new popularity, decides to post more and more about current events on Taggit to gain more attention for themselves, eventually becoming a consistent and reliable (but not necessarily trustworthy) source of information among masses of people.

Jeppifa has become too big for their britches.Jeppifa can either go back to posting about current events casually and let their followers know that they do not want the attention they're getting (get smaller), or Jeppifa can choose to rigidly adhere themselves to journalistic standards of integrity and ethics (get bigger britches).

Jeppifa does neither, instead posting some unsubstantiated claim, abusing their influence, potentially causing real world harm, and definitely showing their ass for everyone to see.

don't be a Jeppifa.i used "current events" in this example obviously, but actually the most common example i see (because of who i hang out with) (it happened to me!) is Person Who Likes To Talk About Cool Science Things > Accidental "Science Communicator" Who's Gotten Too Big For Their Britches And Posts Uncredited Misinformation To Their Followers Who Are Not Going To Research Further

the great thing about tiktok is you can tell it to stop giving you notifications about certain things, and then, instead of doing that, it continues to give you those notifications but with a little label on it that says "stopped"

this is a 380 square foot studio apartment, it does not have a fucking foyer
a studio apartment layout with walled out spaces labeled "BATH" and "W.I.C."
the rest of the layout is open with vague regions labeled "BEDROOM", "KITCHEN", "LIVING ROOM", and "FOYER"

some of my more traditional work as i play around with writing as a visual medium btw
sloppy writing on a piece of college rule paper. the words go up and down and turn around like sand being pushed and pulled by waves:
i get too caught up in being perfect, i think. i wonder what the world will say if they see how inconsistent—
— i [scribbles] tend to be. [above the word "tend,": "who misspells "tend"???"] will my friends think less of me for not finishing that story?
or that other one? or that one?
or that one?
or this one i just started and am already
tired
of
writing?
hmmmmmmmmmph hnmph hmph
how the fuck [underlined] do you spell "hmph"?!
argh!
maybe i should just publish the beginnings. I'm too young to figure out the middle. i haven't lived my own middle yet! and well i just don't like end—
—ings.
does anything ever end? i imagine us all as sand castles in the sand and when the waves wash us away all that's left is the memory So was it ever/n [below the last letter: "is that an 'r' or an 'n'"] worth it to build the
castle
in the
first place?
it must have been, because we did. but then what of the sand castles we started and never finished? that washed away before the memory could take hold…
… maybe someone else made a memory out of my pile of sand.
[in the shape of a sand castle, with a moat made of the word "moat":] maybe, just maybe, they know how to turn it into a sand castle of their own [the last three words make up the door to the sand castle]
[in the previous style:] maybe i should publish
my piles of sand,
my measly mounds
of the stories i never could
figure out how to polish or even just make big enough to notice among the footprints of all those visitors who don't notice the beach because they're distracted by the waves.
maybe i shouldn't let the knowledge that the waves are coming and the tide rising faster than i could ever hope to build stop me from playing in the sand.
and why worry if my mound is a good enough castle to show the world, when the world is full of people who just want to play with me and my mound. my pile of love.

and you should
a Google maps overview of the Old Pulaski County Courthouse at 400-448 W 2nd Street, Little Rock, AR 72201.
photographs of it show the facade of a stereotypical medieval castle with light gray stone walls and dark gray roofing with bright red accents on the walls where they meet the roof. the building appears only two stories high by count of the windows. there is a spire on the left, and on the right is a clock tower nearly twice as tall as the rest of the building.
Google maps lists it as a "County government office"

everyone say hello to my new favorite photo of myself
the left profile view of a skinny white person sitting sideways on a chair, bathed in red and blue light as they look slightly downwards. they are shirtless and have short hair. the word "THEM" in all capital letters is shaved into the side of their head. they have smudged black eyeliner. they're wearing faded black jeans and low-rise black leather boots. their left leg is propped up with just the very back of their heel resting on the edge of their chair. their left forearm is propped up on their knee, and their right forearm is propped up on the back of the chair. they are holding a black nylon leash with a chain collar. the leash is wrapped around both wrists. the tendons in the back of their left hand are sharply defined. in the background, separate red and blue shadows loom.

4: two dots connected by a slim line.

all the remaining tweets i think are worth archiving but haven't officially arrived here because of some technical aspect that i don't want to bother recreating:
the text "Google heard the passing comment of 'hey, at least for once it's not me' and then decided that I was breaking up with it" followed by a screenshot of a conversation with the Google Assistant. The first message said "it's not me" and the assistant's reply is "Sounds like you're breaking up with me. Just know I've enjoyed being your assistant"
suggested replies at the bottom of the screen are "Make me happy" and "Sing me a song"Tweet: Have you ever tried to download a program on Linux or a Chromebook but it's only available for Mac and Windows and you're just like, "clearly there are more than two operating systems; why isn't there a third option here?"
