sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I had forgotten that I requested this review. The Lilac Time are another of those bands that deserve to be more well known than they are. This came on my radar when it was first released on Swordfish Records( a label run by the owners of Swordfish Records in Birmingham, the shop is still going). 110
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Superb set last night. So glad you played so many of the songs from the new album as they sounded great live. Also Mason Dixon Line was on another level. Would love to see you guys do a set of songs from the last three albums as they don't get enough airing live. 021
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Saw Bob back in 2016 and he was obviously having a Flip Your Wig day as he played 4 songs off the album. Sadly an ex-girlfriend went off with my copy of the album. She also took my Generation X Valley of the Dolls album. 110
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 05/10/2026The album cover is the only Beatles album up to that point to feature someone other than one of the Beatles 110
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 02/10/2026If you liked Scud Mountain Boys you should follow it up with The Pernice Brothers "Overcome by Happiness". Joe Pernice's next project after the SMB. 100
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I have a feeling he is a perfectionist and maybe a bit difficult to get along with. He does seem to make up with people eventually as Brett and McAlmont seem to be on talking terms with him. 110
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 21/09/2026It was only meant to be a short term project. They were going to release three EP's but only managed two as the band fell apart. 111

sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Cathal wanted to call this album "Bugs "f*cking" Bunny" but the record label wouldn't let him. If you look in the run out grooves of the vinyl you will see that it is etched in as to what the album is actually called. 110
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Not that you would know as they never get mentioned or tour here anymore the band are still a going concern with original guitarist John Lombardo back in the fold. 110

sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 24/08/2026At the time a lot of the LA bands were saying that the album was a very commercial sound compared to what the band sounded like before they signed to Geffen. The Vaught Tapes album is the one that is closer to what the band sounded like then. 110

sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 06/08/2026On this album and Sin of Pride they tried to get away from the fast paced powerpop of the previous albums. By the time of Sin of Pride and much like SLF their audience didn't want them to change. 110
sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 03/08/2026The cover is a bit of a steal from The Clash's "White Man In Hammersmith Palais" 110

sjpittaway.bsky.social @sjpittaway.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Cope isn't a fan of this album. At one point he had even deleted it from his discography on his web page. No idea why as there are some great tracks on it. The title track is really good. 110
