Don't know if it's the *most* useless video game thing I know, but naming sublevels/layers building things for Mass Effect 3, I named the ones for the maintenance tunnels in the Geth Dreadnought mission "gethries" as a reference to Star Trek's Jefferies tubes.

Played Super Mario on the NES at a neighbor when I was... 5? Started drawing Super Mario levels on paper and "playing through them" in my head. That interest in building things stayed (not realizing until much later you could actually do it as a job) and now I'm somehow 20 years into a career.

Growing up with games and a fascination with building things, did a lot of hobbyist level design as a kid/teenager. While figuring out what post-secondary schooling/career to pursue a level designer at a small company reached out about my hobbyist levels. Haven't looked back.

First time trying to make candied nuts. It's fun to learn a small new thing. Just gotta wait until they're fully cooled before they get chopped up.

Work: An NPC bearing an approximation of my name has been killed off in at least 2 games I worked on that I know of. Non-work: I've broken multiple bones, all of them related to me playing volleyball. Celebrity meeting: Randomly ended up having drinks next to Jason Momoa on a trip.

A few pictures from Abkhazi Garden in Victoria, BC.

One bright pink and yellow flower standing out in a cluster of green lily pads floating on a water surface.

Several blooming white lilies hanging down at the top of an 8 ft tall rare lily plant said to need to grow for 7 years before blooming once.

Several trees stand among a carefully manicured lawn and stone path, surrounded by various types of plants and grasses. The branches and trunks of the trees are partially covered in moss. In the background a small part of a building can be seen.

Out of focus green leaves in the very front frame a tangle of small curly branches going in every direction.

I feel like I've started hitting puzzles in Blue Prince that are about things beyond the goal of the game, and while I have all the components needed to reach room 46, it feels like the game pushes me to these other puzzles.

My cat has developed an affinity for rubber brushes and vacuum cleaners. So much so that when the vacuum comes out, she repositions herself where vacuuming needs to be done so she can be vacuumed instead.

Tell people how you feel about them, their work, something they've done for you or for others... not just in a fatalistic sense ('you might not be able to at some point in the future'), but for its own sake. It can make someone's day.
