We at the Scandinavian Journal of Military Studies - @sjms.bsky.social - are looking for Special Collection proposals Do consider us if you aim to be the guest editor(s) of a military studies-related collection - it's going to be an open-access publication! #CivMilSky
Open Call for Special Collection proposals
What is a Special Collection? A special collection is equivalent to a special issue, but in a journal publishing articles continuously (not volume based). Guest editors select and edit the articles, and the journal ensures quality by peer review and editorial oversight. SJMS follows guidelines based on the DOAJ requirements for special issues and collections. For our collections, see this link.

What is SJMS? The Scandinavian Journal of Military Studies (SJMS) is an online, open access journal publishing both high quality research and valuable practice-oriented studies relevant to the military profession. The journal consists of two distinct tracks: A practice-oriented track and a research track. Articles in both tracks are subjected to double-blind peer review, and a special collection can consist of a mix of both article types.

How to apply? Send a 2-page proposal to the journal (ralo@fak.dk), including a description of the state of the artThemes of the special collection proposals could concern, but are not limited to:

Military Technology and Innovation
Future of Professional Military Education
Gender issues and work environment in military organizations
Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and MDO Command (in a small states perspective).
Veteran care and politics
NATO in the Nordics
Total Defence
