Dan is my husband, as well as a phenomenal science reporter and editor with experience at not just SciAm but NatGeo, USAT, BuzzFeed, and Science News, too (and has a background in aerospace engineering to boot). You should definitely hire him. I don't know anyone who hustles more to get a story.

Today is my last day at Scientific American, which has been sold to LabX media group. For three decades I've led the magazine's coverage of human origins, archaeology, paleontology, animal behavior, ecology, BIRDS. End of an era. Anyway this feels weird to say, but I'm now available for assignments!

The postdoc who trained me said he went to like 3 different stores to find a fancy, non-alcoholic bubbly drink when I passed my defense bc I don't drink, but he wanted it to be special. I still have the bottle. <3
