Downtown #PortlandOregon 's skylne as seen from the Lovejoy Ramp to the Broadway Bridge. A year ago this couldn't be done as there was the old Main Post Office there. A year from now there may be condo towers here.

The Leach House at the bottom of the Johnson Creek gully at #LeachBotanicalGarden. It's known as "Sleepy Hollow" and is let for functions and such. One wing contains the gift shop.

And here's ONE MORE pic of Mount Hood ... for now. This is from a place called Jonsrud Viewpoint, which is in Sandy, a town about twenty miles east of where Iive. A pullout wayside provides a view up the Sandy River drainage that goes all the way up to the mountain.

et another Mount Hood photo, but a different POV. This picture is from SR 14, just SE of Vancouver. The cloud that's obscuring the tip of the peak was from the 2020 Santiam wildfire, which was about to shroud the Metro with smoke for the next 2 weeks plus.

There is a thick belt of evergreens on the slope going from the upper part of #LeachBotanicalGarden in #PortlandOregon that feels primeval. There is an elevated 'tree walk' that allows you to be up amongst them. We'll be there soon.

#Portland Air Disaster, December 1978: on 1978-12-28, a jetliner, United Air Lines Flight 178, ran out of fuel over outer southeast Portland while the crew tried to get a handle on a landing gear issue. 10 passengers and 2 crew died.

It’s exciting when a little bit of a painting looks like “a real painting”. Here’s my attempt, I was quite pleased with my river, cranky about my unsubtle yellow hill (his hill was really pretty shades).
